I've been trying steadfastly to drink less. That's why I haven't been posting. This board and me boozing doesn't really agree. Anyway, glad for the win this evening. I would like a playoff game. The NFC teams are not that good this year.

After San Francisco I was sure they we'd go something like 5-11.
I'm right there with you. I had zero expectations for this season to begin with and while it's highly doubtful we make a run in the playoffs, this season has mostly been bearable to watch.

If we can't put on our big boy pants and win a home game against a team that struggled to beat the Texans today, we don't deserve the post season anyways.
Ayuh.

Watching them struggle against the offensively inept Browns and Texans has given me a little hope.

Amazing win, the biggest difference was obviously Romo. We had plenty of 3rd and shorts to mediums in the first game but couldn't convert, last night Romo converted like 4 or 5 3rd downs in a row to start the game and overall our 3rd down conversion rate was great, mostly due to Romo.

The defense was passable and got some big turnovers, but again, there just isn't enough talent there for me to consider this team a legit title contender. Now to me, this is a 1 game season. The Colts won the division, they've been kind of meandering about the last few weeks and we need it more than they do, we just need to come out and take care of business because I'm pretty confident we will win in DC.

Really pisses me off that we basically have no chance at a bye despite our Seattle win due to these 3-team tiebreakers. Looks like we will be the 3 seed if we win out, unless something crazy happens with Green Bay or Detroit, and then I'd guess we would get Detroit in the first round. God rest Brandon Carr's soul.

So I have to admit, I felt a gutless bitch meltdown coming on as we surrendered the lead and 24 unanswered points after jumping on the Eagles out of the gate. Then Romo and the defense both stepped and put the Eagles away with the season on the line. And did it in their house. Kudo's.

Oh, and either Parnell is a pretty significant downgrade from Free or he had a really weak game. Or both. The run game was stuffed without Free it appeared to me.

The run game was already having problems before Parnell entree the game.

Murray had a bad night IMO. A team like Philly...you need to hit the hole quickly and go. He kept stringing out runs and being too patient. You do that and a team with a quick DL is just going to swallow you up. Martin is great, but Cox ate him up all night, so patience from Murray worked against him.

Nothing feels better than a win against Philly. I don't think I hate any fan base worse then those fuckers.

However this team and its D scares me. No real consistent pass rush and Carr is guaranteed to give up 2-3 big passes per game to someone.

Honestly with a legit pass rush that game is over in the first quarter. Sanchez sucks when he has people in his face.

It's gonna hurt so bad after this win when we lose next week to the Colts And choke away the division.

I liken the Cowboys to basically every NBA game. You know the team that is down is going to make a run at the end, just have to hope the opposing team wears themselves out in the comeback. We had a big part in wearing them out at the end though...Mincey and Crawford took it over.

Feh. I am enjoying this win and feel good about playing the Colts. When you expect bad things, bad things happen. Loser mentality.

It's sadly true though.
Yeah. The tiebreakers get them so they have to win out with the tougher schedule of the teams involved. Great win last night but Tony is correct with that assessment.

Fortunately our mentality doesn't affect the team. The fact we have 10 wins and haven't clinched a playoff spot, and likely won't clinch even at 11-5 since we lose a tiebreaker with every other contending team, just seems like the typical "suck em in and then burst their bubble" deal like we see every year.

This team and year could be different, but I'll believe it when I see it. Just unreal we enter December at 8-4 and probably have to go 4-0 down the stretch just to make the playoffs.

Irritating also because we didn't get to feast on the NFC South like Detroit and Green Bay. They have the tie breakers because of an easier schedule.

Even if we get beat by the Colts all it takes is one loss by the Eagles and we'd still have a good shot at clinching.

Yep. That will end up being the difference between 2 NFC North teams going to the playoffs vs. 2 NFC East teams.

It bugs me a shit team like the Lions can just flop in. All they have to do is beat the Bears.
