Northern Illinois isn't exactly a big school but I guess it's better then Eastern Washington and Georgia Southern.
Ward has been a solid 2nd-3rd rounder since the season ended.

He did not see his stock "rise" in the funny season like Wilcox and especially Matt Johnson.

He still isn't my favorite of the safety prospects but at least we would be taking a legit shot at the position.

LSU FB J.C. Copeland met with the Patriots, Cowboys and Lions this week.

In addition, he has a private workout scheduled with the Falcons on Sunday in Baton Rouge and is slated to work out for the Buccaneers on April 25. The 6-foot-1, 270-pound former defensive tackle is a punishing lead blocker who earned MVP honors in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. He should find a home with a team that runs between the tackles with regularity.

If only we still did.

I'd love to grab Copeland with a late pick.

Dallas Cowboys' pre-draft national visits headlined by top defenders as expected

Irving _ To get a clearer understanding who the Cowboys might take with their 16th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, keep an eye on who their bring in for pre-draft visits, starting today and running through Wednesday.

The Cowboys are allowed to bring in 30 top prospects for national visits and considering the names reportedly already here or on the invite list for the up close and personal meet and greet, targeting the defense is the obvious focal point.

Many of the prospects came in Sunday night.

The expected visitors include Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald, Missouri defensive end Kony Ealy, UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr, Boise State defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, Arizona State defensive end Davon Coleman, Southeast Louisiana State defensive tackle Jerrod Black, Northwest Missouri cornerback Brandon Dixon, Northern Illinois strong safety Jimmie Ward.

Again, the Cowboys are allowed up to the 30 visitors and more names are expected to trickle in.

But these visits are important considering that DeMarcus Ware in 2005 and Morris Claiborne in 2012 were the only top picks taking by the Cowboys in the past nine drafts who didn't make pre-draft visits to the team's Valley Ranch headquarters.

Travis Frederick in 13, Tyron Smith in 2011, Dez Bryant in 2010, Jason Williams in in 2009, Felix Jones in 2008, Anthony Spencer in 2007 and Bobby Carpenter in 2006 were among the pre-draft visitors the year they were taking first by the Cowboys.

Who is Jerrod Black? I am sure they meant Justin Ellis.

I have been lukewarm on Jernigan, but all of this Ealy talk has me scared shitless and liking him more and more.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on Wednesday that 12 teams have expressed interest in Georgia QB Aaron Murray.

Murray is currently in Phoenix preparing for Georgia’s pro day on April 16. Pat Dye, Jr., Murray’s agent, said the signal caller has garnered interest from the following teams: Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Arizona, Minnesota, New Orleans, St. Louis, Cleveland, Houston, Dallas, Oakland, Tennessee and Kansas City. "There’s just a real positive buzz about Aaron with the teams," Dye said. "He’s well ahead of schedule [from ACL surgery in November] and he should be fine to start training camp or at some point during training camp. Whether if that’s the first day or two weeks into it. Aaron swears he’ll be ready by training camp, a full go."

Yeah, that just means they are sending Limp Dick Wilson, so not very impressed.

Gotta legitimize his position somehow.

I kindof don't blame them. If the team doesn't think he can play OT, than his stock shouldn't be high enough to matter at our position. It's just a guess whether he can be effective at OG and I'd much rather wait a round or two to grab someone who's proven at the position.
