Kristian Fulton and Asante Samuel Jr. are about the only ones I'd feel comfortable starting as a top 3 guy, the rest are depth types.
Yeah the problem is will either of those guys take 3-4 mil a year? Because that appears to be the max budget for any free agent.

I still like Asante Samuel as a guy who can start inside or outside at a high level. And frankly he will probably want a 1 year deal. Because a healthy good season could have him getting one of these 3 year 60 mil deals.

But on a one year deal he will probably get more than 3 mil. I also think his tackling is suspect and our defensive coordinator probably prefers better tackling corners. Although his play making fits in perfectly.

Fulton would be an excellent choice as well. I don't think he has as much upside but is a rock solid kind of player.

Which means we will go for option 3. Some sketchy guy way down the list of corners who has only a chance of making the roster.

Yep you push the majority of that cap charge off and cut them before it's done. Barkley's cap hit this year? Only 6.6 mil. So 2026 I guess becomes a little more painful at 9.8 mil. And 2027 when it's 13 mil. He will never see those 2028 and 2029 seasons where he will be cut and they have around 8.5 mil in dead cap.

Basically it's a massive contract and the guy will still never count more than 13 mil in any given season. Our burger boy cap guy can't seem to think in terms of more than one season.
It will be a drop in the bucket, as the cap is supposedly going up by 10-12M by 2027/2028.

It’s like the Jones morons don’t even look at the salary cap numbers anymore…they just have a price range they will pay, and that’s it.

I missed the exact number of years, but the Cowboys haven’t signed an outside FA for more than 6 mil per in a long time.

Who knows how much of that figure is fake, though. Probably a fair amount since the agents didn't say.

Fulton at 2 years 20 mil or Turpin and backup guard for over 10 mil a year. This is my problem with this franchise.

Just draft a WR who can return and can actually be an impact WR. We always talk about WRs needing to play special teams and then say, well we already have a returner.

Lamb isn't capable of that?
They won’t risk Lamb getting hurt on returns. He would be pretty dynamic I would think but no way will Jones go with that.

Let's not kid ourselves though, they could easily sign a guy like Fulton (or re-sign Lewis) for 10/year while also extending Turpin and signing some random backup OG.
