You know, I struggle a little with this issue. I don't want any child to go hungry for example. I want a person to be able to get back on their feet. But I also hate the people who rely on the system so heavily that they have no motivation to do it on their own. I absolutely want the single mom of 2 kids who is working a full time job to be able to afford to put food on the table and maintain a decent house.

But I also don't want to pay 1000 bucks a month to the person claiming back pain and earning money under the table and getting another whatever in food stamps a month. Those people can get off their lazy ass and go to work.

And frankly that's the type of stuff DOGE is actually trying to fix. Not cutting benefits but limiting the funding to those who actually need it. Unfortunately people just hear "cuts to Medicaid or foodstamps or whatever" and they get upset because they think the gravy train is about to be shut off. That and there is a group of people who hate it because it's a Republican regime and they are fed propaganda by the media that the hard working mother of two is going to starve to death.

I have the same struggle. Unfortunately, we have so many that are taking freebies when they should be earning their own, it's gotten to the point we don't know which ones are which anymore. I don't want anyone to do without, but I also have no issue with cutting them off and prosecuting them if they are taking advantage.

Like him or not this isn't the same sleepy Joe nothing being done administration. Shit is getting done. You might not like what is getting done but we aren't going to have 4 years of coasting while our President sleeps. And I appreciate that fact. Because it has always felt like most Presidents actually do very little in the past.

Conspiracy how? Remember how we all laughed at Clinton when he got out of being drafted by going to Oxford or whatever he did?

Funnier now when Uncle Scam fakes his bone spurs to keep from being drafted 50 years ago but somehow gets a glowing medical report ~snicker~ from his White House doctor and then, many years later, heals from his gunshot wound to the ear to the point where you can't even tell he was even shot.

By the way, his answer yesterday to the question about how much rare earth minerals he expects to get out of Ukraine and when was so "We beat Medicare"-ish I could help but laugh at him.

I don't think any of us support his draft-dodging. But that was so long ago it barely matters. He was once a liberal Democrat, too, but who cares about that now.
