In terms of the OC spot, QB/passing game whatever spot, or both?

I really like the possible Adams hire and what it represents for how they view the structure of the offense, Dorsey I'm indifferent towards but he was a fringe HC candidate 2-3 years ago so it can't be that bad.
The passing game. Adams seemed to have a strong run game with Connor.

What kind of scheme does he run? I have rarely paid attention to Cardinals games.
I haven't watched all-22 on them yet but I think it's a mix with a lean towards gap stuff (counters, pulling OL, etc.). Nobody is a pure zone/gap scheme anymore but usually you see a lean one way or the other.

Yeah, I thought I read their run game was good at unusual wrinkles in the blocking schemes, creative pulls and traps and things that defenses weren't used to seeing.

Sounds like when Carroll told BS to go study and copy some of what Shanahan was doing, or whatever was having success around the league. This is exactly the kind of assistant I hoped we'd hire, young guys with energy and new ideas.

I wonder if they're trying to figure out how to get an OL coach who aligns with him.

Sad that I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much on this even though signs are pointing to it.

Nothing will get me to get my hopes up at this point other than them actually getting into the super bowl or maybe conference championship.

But if we compartmentalize things, this would be an excellent hire and I hope they do it.

Keep stacking coaches guys!

Yeah I'm not going to shit on it because I don't like BS or the owners. The sad thing is Jerry has it set up that if we have a 10-12 win season under a new coach it will mostly be viewed as a success.

I can't even get my hopes up on things like this one hire, though. Cheap Steve will probably be mesmerized by Ken Dorsey's offer to take 100k less or something. :sad

I mean Ken Dorsey did lead an offense that was second in the NFL in points. Do I prefer Klayton Adams, yes. I like a dude who is focused on the running game since our head coach is going to be running the offense anyway. But Dorsey at one point was the hot name as an OC. Of course than the Bills started 5-5 and he became the scapegoat as the OC so it didn't end very hot.

Maybe there is a way to get them both on staff though. OC/Run game coordinator for Klayton. QB coach/passing game coordinator for Ken Dorsey.

That's intriguing but it feels like a Rooney interview. I'd much rather make the Lions OL coach our OC than their RB coach, you'd presumably be bringing some of the schematic diversity the Lions had either way but most of that came from the OL more than anything else.

Yeah I kind of feel like RB coach is one of the least important assistant coach positions. RB is a position that doesn't take much development. That's not to say a RB coach can't make a great OC, but it's just hard to tell if they are a good coach from the performance of their position group.

You hire someone like that and you're really just hoping he learned a lot from the OC and can help implement it in Dallas.
