He will probably bring an assistant from Arizona, maybe Chris Cook. He used to coach football at a local HS in Charlotte.

Was it ever a question that they would hire an OL coach? What a bizarre thing to say.

Are they really that cheap that this would even be in question?

Starting OL next year? Draft one, sign one?

Hope Guyton and Beebe get coached up. Smith is locked in. Martin retiring. Steele? Played better later in season, but ugh. Like Bass and Hoffman as backups. Not for 17 games. Asim?

Does Guyton move to RT? Draft a LT? Smith at LG and Beebe at C? Sign a RG? What to do with Steele and that contract?

Have to ask the question with the Jones'. Less is more on the coaching staff for Jerry. For sure the OL coach is going to coach the OL the way Adams wants. His plays, his techniques, etc. Adams will be involved heavily.

Is Lunda 100% locked in as TE coach or could he move to OL? Colombo come in and coach like Adams wants? Not sure he can do that after what happened with Giants. Could just bring in someone that was Assistant OL coach with Cards.

I'd seen people suggest Adams was basically the OL coach and OC in title only, which is pretty crazy. A rising star like him wouldn't have to accept that.

I think Guyton will be fine. On the fence about keeping Steele. He's a great run blocker and if we really want to run that much, maybe Adams likes him. I do think Richards can start there or elsewhere if we need him to.

What's so great about Adams and what he did at AZ is he didn't have really any "big name" OL and they were still excellent.

I suspect he'll have a large hand in the OL, but you still need a position coach to run drills, hold position meetings and so forth. Sort of like Adams will be to Schottenheimer.

This will be a make or break year for Guyton. I didn't think he was a disaster but he did make a bunch of mistakes. Hopefully he can put it together because the talent is there for him to be elite or at least very good.

Overall OL is the area where I'm maybe worried the least about. I wouldn't mind adding a mid or late round player (preferably a tackle) but I think we'd be fine with what we have. Even without Martin.

Also, I still say our best OL would be Smith / Bass / Beebe / Hoffman/ Guyton.

I wonder if Adams will try to shake some things up like that.

Same here. We've used enough high picks there. Time to make it work with what we have.

And our great local journalists have failed again on the Guyton mystery. I kind of get if they didn't want to talk during the season about some injury or other issue, but there's no excuse now.

Good point on Smith. With Adams here he might kick Smith back outside. And maybe Schottenheimer thought so, too. Who knows with Solari and McCarthy making that call?

The Jeanty talk will be deafening if he makes it past the Raiders.
One of the few actual 1st round talents in the first round. Going to be very tough for him to drop all the way to 12.

But the Raiders are stupid if they don’t draft one of the top QBs

Luckily they need a QB and the Bears need OL. Maybe we will get lucky.
