I wonder if they are so desperate to get Witten on the staff that they are trying to find the best guy available willing to have his replacement on staff? :lol
If he’s so good, then just hire the guy as HC

Yeah I really don't get the Witten thing. If you want him as a future head coach, hire him in the future. The only reason to groom someone on your staff is if your current head coach is wanting to retire soon.

Carroll was probably the best case scenario for who we could have hired.

Now it will be Kellen Moore or somebody even worse
I'm stunned Carroll, who's not a young man, is joining a team that's not in "ready to win now" mode.

FWIW, the Fan guys read more of that Go Long article with the Mike quote of wishing he'd never taken this job, and it's more insider stuff saying that Stephen really is the cheap ass we all knew he was. Says he has a fascination with the Moneyball concept of always finding cheap undervalued assets and hates the big splash moves.

Of course, it's ultimately still on Jerry for letting his son and other advisers talk him into all this. Not like he gets a pass. But apparently, Stephen really is that bad and that cheap.

What exacerbates our frustrations is the stark contrast from their on-field cheapness to lavishness for everything else - helicopters, yachts, stadium, the Star, etc.

It's here but like Rev said, most of it is paywalled. The Fan guys were talking about the part we can't see.

He might but he clearly misunderstands it because running backs are the most impactful undervalued assets in the game right now and yet they piss all over them.
Man, we haven’t even gotten to this topic yet. After head coach, 2025 RB will be the next fiasco we’ll languish in.
