So the Fan was just saying that Diana Russini claimed the reason Kraft moved so fast on Vrabel is because he knew the Cowboys had interest in him and wanted to get it done before they could talk to him.

And then Belt said he'd heard rumors last year that the Cowboys would be "near the top" of Vrabel's list. (Though the Patriots could have been #1.)

I don't know if that's more encouraging or discouraging. Encouraging that they were thinking about hiring the best coach available, or discouraging that if they were, they bungled it so badly that they didn't even talk to him before he was hired somewhere.

I doubt Jerry would ever pay him the going rate anyway. I think he made something like 15 mil in Seattle. No way Jerry is paying even close to that. As c-rock said just above, Jerry probably won't pay his head coach what the better coordinators are making.

One of the media people said just in the last few weeks that Jerry didn't insist Parcells keep Zimmer, that Bill genuinely liked and wanted to keep Zimmer on his own. They said the one coach Jerry really pressed Parcells to keep was Wade Wilson, and Parcells fired him anyway.

Other than that, I don't think it's happened once since Jimmy.
