Keep looking for that one head coach who can overcome you and your son’s brain dead approach to building a winning team.
You want so badly to believe that the Jones clan wakes up and says…ya know, maybe we actually don’t know what the fuck we are doing. But since that will NEVER happen, I wish nothing but complete misery on those hillbillies from a football perspective. I hope they can’t sign anyone of note, and the team continues to crater and the fans eventually turn on PT and Rosie. It’s the only change that might happen, death being the other possible change.

I'm not convinced we'd be better off with BB than Mike anyway.

Maybe not, and I would have been ok sticking with McCarthy.

But right now it's not a choice between Belichick and McCarthy, it's a choice between Belichick and Moore, Gruden, Zimmer or whoever else they'd be most likely to hire. That's Belichick every time for me.

This is, by far, the most attractive option for me as well.

This is what the problem is.

Zimmer is probably coming back, they’re already talking about Jason Witten on the staff. No coach worth a shit should have to come into a gig with staff already installed.

I don't know about Zimmer. He's not under contract so I'm not sure Jerry has that strong of feelings about him.

Old Man Carroll brings some of that Dan Quinn rah rah stuff, but the dude is going to keel over soon and his offenses have never been dynamic.

McCarthy wasn't "it" anyways

Dallas went 12-5 largely on the "strength" of a weak NFC East.

That's no longer the case, with Philly strong and Washington clearly turning a corner. New York is still a pathetic mess, but they will fix their QB situation next year.

Dallas needs someone hungry and aggressively looking for every advantage to beat the NFL's best teams.

McCarthy had the "hungry" look down, insofar as he ate a lot.

You don't go 12-5 three straight seasons by accident.

I mean, I agree to an extent, but he also had the handicap of a front office who is clearly, not committed to spending money to win also.

All of these college coaches have buyouts.

Does anyone think he is going to pay millions and then have to pay the coach real money?

Guys like Lincoln Riley are in excess of $10M.

Even Kiffin is out of range for our cheap asses.

I’m pleased McCarthy is gone. I mostly soured on him early this year. I’m just not under any illusion that the front office did him any favors the last few years in improving this team through free agency.

They want to be the most valuable franchise in the NFL and play moneyball at the same time.

This is the perfect storm of who gives a fuck we’re about to witness. Jerry still thinks Dallas is some attractive destination, when nobody outside of his family believes that any longer.

The 90s was a long time ago and we’ve only been relevant because of the entertainment/circus of letdowns and blown expectations.
The 60s are to the 90s what the 90s are to today.

Those 90s championships aren't just ancient fucking history, they are irrelevant.

At least he knows how to run the ball.
He was forced into it after the first few games of the year this season.

Although if (when) he becomes the HC, you can write Jeanty in as the pick at 12 as long as he's there. And then Moore will promptly run him into the ground just like Garrett did with Elliott.

Really? Or was that just a Barkley thing. I seem to remember people complaining how we didn't run enough or in the right situations when he was here.
Yeah, I think was what he's doing in Philly is a byproduct of a combination of Barkley, Hurts, and probably Sirriani emphasizing that running the ball and being physical needs to remain part of the offensive identity.
