After thinking about this with a cool head, I think I give Ewers one more game to improve his play and that of the passing offense as a whole before I go to Manning.

The kid may not be ready to take the team deep into the playoffs, but I'm not sure that they can do that even with Ewers playing the way that he is.

Both his numbers and the numbers of the passing game as a whole are down, and that's with Texas having arguably even more weapons in the passing game than they had last year.

I mentioned the other day how they had a much better down the field passing attack with Manning, and that was before I looked at the numbers.

"Ewers is averaging 2.6 air yards per completion this season, down from 5.1 a season ago. He ranks 128th nationally in air yards per attempt (5.65), down from 7.49 a year ago, and 115th in percentage of throws 20 or more yards downfield (9.3%)."

I think the reason why this hasn't been more obvious is because Texas has still been winning by wide margins but that's because of how surprisingly good their defense has been. Even against Georgia I thought they played fairly well overall, but they got next to help from the offense.

So if it's more of the same from the passing offense, I'd make the switch to Manning because we aren't making a run at the NC playing like this anyway.

I think this might be one of those "normal" games for Jeanty where he puts up like 25/100 and his stock potentially takes a very slight dip from fringe top 10 to more 12-18ish, which is where I'd imagine we'll be picking.

Close. 33/128/1. Maybe the amount of rushes will cause a drop?

He's still only on pace for around 250 carries which is about normal for these big time college backs. Bijan had 258 his last year in college so I doubt it makes much difference.

I have a feeling you will be disappointed in one of two ways. First, he still manages to go before Dallas’ pick. Or more likely, he is there ripe for the taking but they decide it is too rich for a RB.

I think the second scenario is very likely, and depending on who else is there I wouldn't be upset at all unless they take some fucking pointless CB or some shit.

If Belichick ends up being the coach, it doesn't seem like RB would be at the top of his list.
I don't think even Belichick will get unanimous say in personnel. I think McClay has made his way deep into the family potrait.

Oh, you're right. I forgot and thought for a minute we were a well run organization. :lol

I suppose I have gotten too used to good QB personnel at Oklahoma for the past few years but this crop this season makes me want to grab a baseball bat and start with the coaches then work through the meager mixed team personnel of QBs. They are completely pathetic as is the offensive coaching personnel for Oklahoma. I have seen smarter tree stumps.

Nic Scourton is a good example of a guy I'd be perfectly fine passing up Jeanty for.

Yeah I guess so. I’m a spoiled brat when it comes to the Sooners. I have followed them closely since I was in thr 6th grade. My sister graduated with a group that populated the late 40s grads from Muskogee High School with the likes of all Americans Max Boydston, Eddy Crowder and Billy Vessels to drop a few names. The same was on the team that set the record for the longest winning streak in the record books. If I say more I will be rude. My tolerance is not very high I quess.

Venables might not be the guy. Nice guy, great coordinator, maybe not a HC.
