I'd be happy with a 50/50 split.

Just going by my casual observations while watching games, it felt like 95% of his snaps under Quinn were as a rusher.
That might be inflated, but it certainly felt that way.

I mean he is a good defensive coordinator. We can all accept that right?
I honestly forgot about his run in Cincinnati until his name popped up as a potential DC candidate for the Cowboys. I was quickly reminded that he had some good defenses there as well.

A lot of people thought it was more Marvin Lewis.

I think it's possible that him and McCarthy are a good fit together. They seem to have a lot of respect for each other. Zimmer brings some of the hardass, McCarthy brings more of the players coach. Ultimately we need the players to make it work but I'm good with these guys as the OC and DC.

How many years did their careers overlap in the NFC North?

Someone remind me why a lot of Cowboys fans wanted Zimmer gone the last time.

Because fans hate every coach who doesn't win every week?

Really, I think it went back to the Campo years, the pickle juice game, and those losing days. It was clear to anyone paying attention that Parcells liked and respected Zimmer.

Predictable blitzes and play calling and yes, him being sent off to 3-4 school was a problem. But give him credit, he continuously improved.
His blitzes used to be really telegraphed and simplistic (the old Conga line blitz anybody?), but like you said I think he's evolved really well and his blitz schemes are way more nuanced than they were 20 years ago.

My biggest hope is that his preference of bigger DT's and LB's forces our dumbass front office to actually make a few real moves in free agency as opposed to their normal idiocy because we actually need a bit of a defensive facelift with him in charge.

is he implying that Moore is a water carrier for the Jones boys?

Wilson could be really dynamic as a blitzer if Zimmer uses him him like he did Smith, it's probably the strongest part of Wilson's game.
Yeah Zimmer has really evolved over the years. I remember before Parcells thinking of him as a pretty pure cover two guy. He really has added a lot to his playback since then. And while he was obviously learning the 3-4 on the fly at one point, he now has those concepts in his tool bag along with everything else.

Now he needs to hire some folks. We need a Dline coach, secondary coach and I wouldn't mind a new LBer coach. So basically everything except Al Harris. He should be able to tailer things to our talent.
