I wonder what progress Jerry is referring to?

The vaunted division title? :lol

It is clear we took a step way backwards in the playoffs.

Not even sure what the hell this means but I don't buy that his destiny is set. McCarthy's fate is in his own hands.
It always has been and he did enough to get canned.

This is basically paying out the contract. Might as well have his fat ass work if he is getting paid is Jerry Jones‘ thoughts right now.

They did the same thing with Garrett. He wasn't fired per se, they just didn't re-new his contract.

Seems like that will be McCarthy's fate.

So the mf would rather flush another year than make fundamental changes?

He will just drift away. Not a decade‘s worth of shit though.

I feel like that happened more than once with Garrett and the first time around he saved his own ass with a bounce back season. But maybe I'm remembering wrong.

I'm gonna take the under on 12 games next year.

I'm not so sure. As of right now I kind of see 11, so give or take 1 or so I wouldn't be shocked if we got to 12 wins. We did seem to luck out that a lot of our toughest opponents are home games for us (and we have 9 home games next year). SF is on the road but beyond that our road games are very manageable.

The problem is it doesn't matter. 10 wins, 12 wins, 17 wins. Who cares? I won't believe in this team at all until they advance deep in the playoffs. And as we saw this year, whatever we win in the regular season is irrelevant on that front.

You know what though?

A lot of media types claimed he was on the hot seat this year, and obviously he wasn't. If that performance against GB wasn't enough, nothing would have taken him down short of 7 or less wins.

So you'll have to excuse me if I don't believe the media types now when they try to tell us, he's definitely on the hottest of hot seats now and this time we totally are right!

I do think we've made quite a lot of progress since the day McCarthy was hired.

The issue is whether we've reached out ceiling under him. I guess we'll find out.

I just hope Seattle hires Quinn soon. Give us a shot to pick a defensive coordinator before all the new head coaches pluck theirs.

If Quinn doesn't get a new job I worry that we won't have the balls to do anything. We will get maybe a new position coach on defense and that's it.

Zimmer as DC?

On top of dealing with Jerruh’s circus, I don’t think Belichick or anyone wouldve come to Dallas while we’ve got Prescott’s $60M remains unresolved.

Is Jerruh dumping Prescott so new coach can start anew? Even if, only have a #24 pick and no salary cap to get replacement. Must wait until 2025.

Or is Jerruh gonna extend Prescott and handcuff the new coach to Prescott for the next four years?

Any new coach coming in this offseason would have to have been okay with possible-to-likely situation of tied to Prescott with no salary cap. Cuz no way is a coach going to wait weeks/month for Jerruh to resolve (ie cut, trade) Prescott.
