Oh by the way, they say in a mad world, only the mad are sane.

I was right all along about this loser.

You can have you day in the sun right now but just so you know a talent like that doesn't stay down! The GOAT will be back for you to secretly enjoy.

I think it might be legal to horsecollar a QB while he's in the pocket. It's when he's a runner that the rules kick in and it becomes a PF
He was clearly out. There is another view on another one that shows the pocket shaded and its not near where this took place.

When he initiated contact, were they still between the hashes, if not then yeah they should have called it. I had the volume down, what did the CBS booth ref Gene Steratore have to say?

And that's how you get stats like that "Previous teams in that situation were 39-0" one. If you call the horsecollar, they have first and goal from, what, the 5 or so. Instead they call IG on Allen (which was terrible also), they get moved back, and the FG is blocked. Likely seven point swing that was the difference in the game.

And that's not even to mention all the other terrible calls that went in the Eagles' favor.

The initial contact was between the hash marks and the out of bounds marker. I think the clip I saw that had the pocket shaded was on TikTok.

It just fucking passes me off to no end because the ref was right there watching it. No way you could have missed it. He just chose not to call it. Then to top it off you have an intentional grounding call where Gabe Davis is less than 5 feet... not yards... away. This shit is not just limited to the Eagles (although it seems to be happening to them more often) because it's creeping up throughout the league games. Was it Hochulis kid doing the eagle game or the Texan game that had several blatant missed calls? I'm asking because are they not training these guys and just hiring off of the buddy system?

They could easily be 0-4 in that stretch, and probably should have lost at least 3 of those.

I think they're much closer to a 6-5 team in reality than a 10-1 team

Yes, the reaper is coming for them and it can't come soon enough.
There is definitely a little 2022 Minnesota Vikings feel to them.

They're way better than that VIkings team who was probably more of a 8-9ish win caliber team. I think the Eagles are a legit 11ish win team, their luck is just getting pushed to the max to the point that they'll likely win about 13 or even 14.

Bottom line is our team is improving, which is what should be happening with good talent and good coaching.

Weeks 1-7 our offense just wasn't to where we wanted it yet, and it's only recently getting untracked.

SF and Philly are what they are, barring injury they are not going to change.

We are even better now today than the team that lost to Philly a few weeks back. We've learned from that game and have grown even more since.

But what is unfortunate is not having a legit shot at HFA, because our team is effing unstoppable at home (helps our offense quite a bit) and on artificial turf (helps our defense, smallish WR's, and Tony Pollard).

We need Philly to lose at least one more game AND lose to SF. We then also need SF to lose another game. Oh yeah, and we can't lose any games at all.

Just keep winning. The unfortunate part is we have the Eagles in our division. We could have the second best record in the NFC and still have to play every game on the road in the playoffs.

I'm not convinced of that. We'll see I guess.
Couple of things. 1) I can see improvement in the OL, Tony Pollard's and Rico Dowdle's running, and Brandon Cooks becoming a legit option opposite CeeDee. The TE's are also steadily improving. 2) I'm hoping we learned from that game itself, like the cost of not seizing the initiative when it's right there.

Sure, it's hard to tell for sure given the level of competition and perfect playing conditions we've had, but it's the equivalence of improvement in a petri dish, and I'm projecting that a percentage of that improvement carries forward on the road in bad weather vs tough opponents.

The Oline has been looking a lot better. I just don't know if it's the competition or not yet. Against the Skins it was almost to easy for Dak. He had all day.

The officiating was horrible and lopsided. But the fact is the Eagles won. The only thing that counts is the Ws at the end of the season. There's no asterisk saying they should have lost more games or were lucky to win the ones they did. The KC drop at the end was unbelievable luck. A Bills WR dropped a sure touchdown. All luck. But none of that will matter at the end. They still won the games.

None other than the sainted Bill Parcells said, "You are what your record says you are."

That's all true but we also know that "regression to the mean" is a very real thing in a league with razor thin margins. Maybe they'll be able to ride this style of play and luck all the way, but you can't love their chances given the history of the league.

When you're the class of the division for two years running, that's not "luck."
They were better last year, this year I don't think there's any daylight between us and them, and I think SF is a good bit better than both when they're playing at their peak.

We'll see what happens in two weeks but if we beat them comfortably (and assuming they lose to SF) I'd feel confident saying we're the better team given how the rest of the season has gone.
