Dak, the guy who I’ve said over and over is an 8-12th ranked QB over his career?

Im saying Howell is worse than that. Far worse. He’s just better than Jones.

I don’t think you understand nuance if you can’t comprehend that a mediocre level starter would still be an elite backup, could still have developmental potential, and is worth more than a mediocre TE.
It’s pretty clear Howell is just that, a capable backup.

No, capable backups don’t lead the league in passing yards.

He’s a mid level starter right now with warts, and potential for much more. Which he may or may not ever reach.

The “he’s only worth as much as a middle of the road TE” conversation is only one that occurs on message boards of NFC East opposition teams.

I can appreciate your dog-like devotion. You have that going for you, which is nice.

But I would hope you recognize he is another case of being in the right place. That one horseshit game last year did not mean dick.

Bieniemy's scheme has unlocked some of his better traits, but sacks are a QB-stat.

Yeah, the fact that he has problems is why he’s not a high end QB who leads the league in passing yards like most QBs who lead the league in passing yards are. He’s not there yet.

But the fact that even in a friendly scheme he can move the ball at a high level shows he has high end ability if he can curb some of his bad tendencies. He’s a work in progress but the ability to push the ball downfield through the air is pretty much the most important trait a QB can have and Howell has it. Daniel Jones never did.

I’ll give three Jake Fergusons for him. The conversation is a joke. And that’s acknowledging that he may never get over the hump and be better than he is, but he’s a lottery ticket with good odds and a high floor.

I love the 'Leads the league in passing yards' angle.

Never mind that he's always playing from behind against teams that are playing out garbage time.

300 YARDS!

The undying devotion to certain people that aren't taking you to a Super Bowl is strange.

Barry vs Emmitt, Peyton vs Brady, et al

No, no....let's talk 22th vs 32nd ranked personnel.

At the peak of 49ers/Cowboys, everyone tuned in. Patriots/Colts, everyone tuned in. Ravens/Steelers.

When was the peak interest for this rivalry Bears/Vikings? Even when both teams were competitive in the late 80s/early 90s, this game was a bore.

It really has always been a snooze-fest as far as I am concerned.

Outside of the Ditka Bears in the "Roller Dome" thing, I have never been impressed by the rivalry other than that it is old.

Hope that's only a stinger.

I don't know, Troy, you'd think 300 lbs flesh jamming your head back into your spine could be a potential injury.

A lot of backups have potential if they would be given the opportunity Howell has been handed.

Or Dak was, for that matter.

As for being a mid-level starter, maybe, though standards aren’t very high at the moment. As such he may end up starting by default, much like he currently is.

I am surprised that @Smitty is selective about his homering out for former Tarheels.

Barely a peep about Ty Chandler.
