Anyone still concerned about our running game?

Pollard only had around 60 yards, and is either going to pop thru a defense and get 6-8 yards, or he’s going to get stuffed, and struggle to get 1-2 yards. Doesn’t have the power to grind out 3-4 yards when he gets squarely hit and has lost that upper top speed gear since the injury. I was surprised how Carolina controlled him pretty well until they wore down in the 4th.

Obviously nothing can be done about it moving forward but it might be a problem as Dallas travels on the road coming up.
Very much. I think it will be our ultimate downfall in the playoffs.

We are leaning heavily on the passing game right now and it's working, and we should be because our passing game is much better than our running game. But long term, when the playoffs come around and we have to beat the best of the conference (probably on the road in the division round), I think our inability to run will be difficult to overcome. One dimensional teams usually only go so far.

Our defense would have to be nearly impenetrable and I don't think they will be.

Yep. We still aren't blocking well enough, though this game seemed better.

I'm most concerned about our run defense. We know it's a problem and it still is. Spent a first rounder to try to help it but that didn't help a bit.

Yea but I'm more concerned with the offense getting too pass heavy. The "getting a physical short yardage RB" ship has sailed and it'll probably bite us in the ass in the playoffs but I don't think it's a fatal flaw necessarily.

Steele has been much better these last 2 weeks.

He is not stacking games together. :lol

Even this play here he looked like a sloppy mess and just barely got a piece of two defenders while falling down who look barely engaged in the play and wildly overran it.

But even if he had a good game (it seemed ok enough but I wouldn't get carried away), it's been 2 whole games since his disastrous eagles game and he hasn't faced a good DL since. That's not stacking games.

You'd think he was the second coming of Erick Williams the way these guys are talking.

That shit is powdered crack. I used to take it too, Jesus it will get the ol heart pumpin.

After all the drugs I've done in my life, it's like throwing bricks in the Grand Canyon. It worked for me but not like it does for other people.

So, what was the deal with CeeDee? By recent game standards, he was a no show.

But the two go hand in hand. We kind of have to be pass heavy. When we tried to be balanced earlier in the year, the offense was much worse.
Somewhat but I'm not saying we need to go run heavy necessarily, but we can't be like 2:1 pass to run like we were in the first half yesterday for no good reason.

I appreciate wanting to use the pass to set up the run, get a lead, force teams to pass and all that, but the run game wasn't that bad in the first half to necessitate that sort of disparity.

The first drive of the game showed how pass heavy the game plan was in my opinion, we threw a little bubble screen to Gallup that went for 7 on the very first play (great) but then went shotgun pass, shotgun pass on 2nd and 3, then 3rd and 3 for a three and out.
