How do the Vikings move on from Cousins?

He’s as good as it gets if you need someone that can throw it 40 times if you need it.

I saw that.
In such a critical situation, the fact that no Viking player or coach was bitching makes me think that clock stoppage is okay. I'm not aware of this rule.

If offensive penalty declined, yeah, clock stops. But defense?

EDIT: Here's the full explanation. We even benefitted from it from a memorable Romo comeback win. I dont remember this rule being active since 1985, though. There's some Mandela Effect going on

Yea I don't think Byard is what he used to be 2-3 years ago but he's still a good starter and definitely worth a few day 3 picks. I get the sense that the Eagles FO basically constantly pesters the rest of the FO's around the league just waiting for a moment of weakness so they can pounce.

You'd hope that we could pull something like this off for a RB or some such.
Yeah, you get that sense, huh?

It's almost like maybe our FO should be doing their fucking jobs and working the phones.

The sense I get is that they like to kick back their feet on their yachts, yuck it up in the suite on gameday, and that the rest of the league thinks they are smelly assholes and so deals don't often get done.

Really? Are you sure? Time to admit that maybe the Philly FO is infinitely better run than the Jerry/Idiot Son clown show?

Nah, can't be. That's not it. I think the NFL officiating is deliberately slanted against the Cowboys and in favor of the Eagles and other teams.
It can be two things.

Yes!! They should! Expose them, and their families, as part of the NFL's nefarious plot to sustain the Cowboy's 27-year absence from an NFCC game!
The Eagles absolutely get favorable penalty treatment. So do the Steelers and Giants, and perhaps the Patriots too. The northeast in general seems to get favorable treatment not just from officiating but the way the league is run in general.

Shocker - league offices are based out of the northeast.

Also, not trying to be too much a conspiracy theorist, but, like, the mafia runs out of the northeast too.

Since I am finally all moved in and I finally got everything for my in-home speakers.

Whoa.

The sounds are fucking insane.

This new audio world during a game frightens and confuses me.
What system you got? I will need a new one when I eventually move.

I wonder if most officials are geographically from the Northeast or if they are from all over the country. I mean if Schmitty was an NFL official you can't tell me his calls wouldn't be biased.

Some of it might even be unconscious. Like, we all have favorite NFL teams. That is what would draw us to go work for the NFL, because we like the product, and of course that would imply a favorite team.

There is no way you can ever remove that inherent bias even if you are trying. You can't even see the bias sometimes probably.

It's why jurors are not allowed to know ANYTHING about a case. It's why judges have to be completely removed from any interest whatsoever. It's why attorneys have strict conflict rules. Etc. There sometimes is no way to operate outside your biases.

He's probably better than Prescott.
I always thought he was bashed way too much. Obviously he has limitations, he has no athletic ability and can't create anything on his own, but if he has time he can read the field and really throw it.

He's the cautionary tale for moving on from Dak though.

The Redskins still haven't replaced Cousins and it was a massive mistake to let him go instead of paying him. And that's despite the fact that Cousins is good not great.

It's really really hard to find even a good QB.

Yea that's why I'd extend Dak but only for the right price. If he wants to push for 50+ he can fuck off because at that point a good but not great QB isn't worth it considering the sort of team you need around him to win it all.

Snyder did say that the league was like the mafia...
