Could you imagine if we got to play a big game with zero penalties? It would completely shift the game easily in our favor.
I would be curious to know the last time we had zero penalties in a game.

I saw a bunch of should-be holds by the Eagles live, but this shit is just preposterous:

Obviously I have no clue if games or fixed or to what extent even if they are, but what is plain to see is that the officiating is so horrendous that it renders the gameplay itself almost pointless at times.

It doesn't really matter whether that's because the refs are completely incompetent, the rules are too litigious/nuanced, games are fixed, all of the above, or whatever else, but it's the fact of the matter.

It all stems from the league prioritizing everything except the dignity of the game itself.

And now Philly lands an all pro safety. Probably for peanuts.

It’s time to admit that they are just infinitely more well run than us and it’s an embarrassment.

How does a GM actually get to use the guy who blew it in coverage the night before as part of a trade package?

The bad part is that even if Byard doesn't come close to his All-Pro level, he is still a massive improvement for virtually zero risk.

An Amari and a 6th plus a free agent bust you didn't want anyways is a good deal no matter what happens.

Yea I don't think Byard is what he used to be 2-3 years ago but he's still a good starter and definitely worth a few day 3 picks. I get the sense that the Eagles FO basically constantly pesters the rest of the FO's around the league just waiting for a moment of weakness so they can pounce.

You'd hope that we could pull something like this off for a RB or some such.

And additionally, if they're willing to give up Byard for that I can't imagine the asking price would be significantly different for Henry.

Really? Are you sure? Time to admit that maybe the Philly FO is infinitely better run than the Jerry/Idiot Son clown show?

Nah, can't be. That's not it. I think the NFL officiating is deliberately slanted against the Cowboys and in favor of the Eagles and other teams.

The NFL needs to take close look at the way the Eagles execute their "QB sneak" b/c while most teams use the "tush-push" maneuver, they push the QB straight forward, but the Eagles' "pushers" (two of them) actually push and lift him so he goes over the top. If you watch, after most "QB sneaks" the QB usually ends up in or under the pile... Hurts ends up on top.

In their game vs Wash. (IIRC), I saw them actually grab Hurts' waistband as they were lift/pushing him.

I mean, if that shit's legal, we should just put two extra linemen in the backfield with Deuce, then have him take the snap and get "tossed" over the line.

I know you can't lift a player. Or at least it's a big no no on defense.

His feet definitely end up off the ground often and it's pretty obviously a conscious thing.

Football has almost completed its transformation into the WWF.
:lol Yeah, I often refer to it as the NFEL... it's becoming unwatchable. Between the refs and the piss poor play (due to systematic decline in the talent), the league is circling the drain. I think (the NFL "powers") see it too... hence the proliferation of FF in recent years and this new "focus" on gambling. They're artificially trying to bolster interest in a faltering product.

It also appears that the announcers/analysts have been mandated to "pump the sunshine"... it's irritating listening to these ppl "talk up" every play/player like they've just witnessed greatness.

I'm sure that league officials have watched film and noticed the illegalities in the way the Eagles execute the sneak. But because those same league officials are part of a wider conspiracy to favor some teams over others, they'll continue to allow it.

It's the same grave injustice that has victimized the Cowboys for many years. It's a shame Jerry can't do anything about it.
