I don’t see Zack missing this game.
I don’t see Zack missing this game.
Hendershot slipping back in the order with McKeon showing out .
I’d agree with what you are saying if the Niners hadn’t of had our number the last few times we’ve played them. This is supposedly the most talented roster McCarthy has had here. I think that’s where this team is now-we’ve got to show we can get past the Niners and Eagles to go to the next level.IDK. Right now that’s the pretty much the consensus best team in the league playing red hot with HFA. And they kind of already have Dak’s number.
You can be a Superbowl winning coach and be glad to miss playing SF. It’s no indictment to lose to that team rn. Hell, if the Giants had met the Bears in the 1986 playoffs, they would have lost by at least ten— they just did not match up against the Bears. It takes luck to win the Superbowl too.
What can’t happen Sunday is sharting the bed like the last two times and losing a game we should have won… again.
I fully expect a competitive game with an actual gameplan this time— win or lose
Probably means Tyron will play if he's starting off the week practicing and not in the rehab group.
Given that I don't think there's much separating these two teams I'd definitely feel like we could beat them in the playoffs even if we don't win here. Might not say it's likely or probable but we'd definitely have a chance, maybe around 40%.I’d agree with what you are saying if the Niners hadn’t of had our number the last few times we’ve played them. I mean, how many people really believe if we get beat AGAIN this week, that somehow the 4th or 5th time in the playoffs against a Niners team will suddenly be a charm? I certainly don’t buy into that. I’ll be pretty concerned that in the 2 or 3 years that this FO and coaching staff has been in place they still haven’t figured out how to get past SF even with a rookie (basically) QB running the show.
Thats why I’m thinking the pressure should really be on McCarthy to have this team ready to play.
Oh there’s no doubt the any given Sunday luck of the draw is at play but if we lose again I guess I’d temper another playoff game hope by knowing we hadn’t beat them in what, 4 tries? My confidence wouldn’t be way up there.Given that I don't think there's much separating these two teams I'd definitely feel like we could beat them in the playoffs even if we don't win here. I might even argue that we have a better chance to beat them in the playoffs if we lose here.
The Eagles were also at home and jumped out to a 7-0 lead that never should've happened because the NFL apparently decided it's not especially important to stop the game for reviews on 4th down plays in the NFCC.Oh there’s no doubt the any given Sunday luck of the draw is at play but if we lose again I guess I’d temper another playoff game hope by knowing we hadn’t beat them in what, 4 tries? No matter what, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to beat the Niners like I do now.
But, I could honestly live with losing this weekend if we come out and punch them in the mouth, play very physically. I don’t think we’ve played real physical ball with them in the playoffs even though the D played decently in the last playoff game.
Our last game with them the effort looked a bit conservative compared to how Philly came out balls to wall the following week determined to knock the shit out of Purdy and take him out of the game. Obviously it would have been nice to see what happened if Purdy hadn’t been injured but it was still a very physical show by the Eagles D.
All true, though football is a game of attrition played over a long season.I’d agree with what you are saying if the Niners hadn’t of had our number the last few times we’ve played them. I think I'd give the edge to whatever team is playing at home. We will see how this weekend goes but right now I'd give the edge to Dallas in Dallas and the edge to San Fran in San Fran.Given that I don't think there's much separating these two teams I'd definitely feel like we could beat them in the playoffs even if we don't win here. Mr Irrelevant.
Why has nobody else figured that rookie (basically) out? It took him getting knocked out of the game for philly to win last year.I’ll be pretty concerned that in the 2 or 3 years that this FO and coaching staff has been in place they still haven’t figured out how to get past SF even with a rookie (basically) QB running the show.

That QB just does his job. He has insane supporting talent and very good coaching around him.Why has nobody else figured that rookie (basically) out? It took him getting knocked out of the game for philly to win last year.
And just for arguments sake, I still say we would have won that game if Pollard doesn't break his leg.
No. He was given away for a nag guard.Charvarius got away.
I honestly hope that McCarthy has kept some stuff seriously under wraps.Defensively, I absolutely believe we can go toe to toe with anybody. We're tough, fast, athletic, and aggressive. I think we can keep the Niners' offense honest and pretty much in check.
Offensively, I just don't have a good feeling. FG's won't beat a contender like San Fran.
