I have no opinion on whether it's photoshopped. I'm just clarifying what booze was saying.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yep.

Also, this is McCarthy's first real opportunity to prove that shedding Kellen Moore was the right move to make. This is a huge week for McCarthy and Dak.
I think it’s huge for McCarthy. If he gets schooled and the team looks flat, it’s hard to defend him and his new offense everyone has crowed about.
A true SB winning coach takes this team into SF and finds a way to win, and god forbid they don’t, it better be some fluke reason. If it’s a shitshow like we saw against AZ, I think it really opens up a ton of questions about where this team is really going.

IDK. Right now that’s the pretty much the consensus best team in the league playing red hot with HFA. And they kind of already have Dak’s number.

You can be a Superbowl winning coach and be glad to miss playing SF. It’s no indictment to lose to that team rn. Hell, if the Giants had met the Bears in the 1986 playoffs, they would have lost by at least ten— they just did not match up against the Bears. It takes luck to win the Superbowl too.

What can’t happen Sunday is sharting the bed like the last two times and losing a game we should have won… again.

I fully expect a competitive game with an actual gameplan this time— win or lose

I'm most interested to see what the offense looks like since I know what the defense can do when the chips are down. I don't expect them to put up 30+ but I expect to see a bit more rhythm and more schemed up easy throws for Dak.

Ultimately we're probably going to have to play them again so I don't necessarily want to see them empty the bucket here and play completely out of their minds.

And if Tyron is out all this is out the window, Edoga playing LT will singlehandedly stall the offense against that defense.

The 49ers WRs and TEs are going to block the fuck out of our little defenders. Playing a physical team like this on speed-killing grass is not a favorable matchup,

I think they go back to exactly what the Cardinals did and start putting hats on hats until they spring theirguys open.

We need a game where we shoot gaps, stuff the run and force Mr Irrelevant to beat us.

That can’t happen with happy-feet Dak. We also haven’t solved the redzone troubles that showed up in the playoff game last year.

You’d have thought we’d have found one physical runner between the draft and FA. Maybe that guy is Luepke?

It’s a Jimmy Johnson game.

I think there's a good chance this game comes down to who's hungrier right now and maybe who's healthier also.

Which is why it doesn't mean much outside of seeding because both those variables can and maybe will change in January.

Sucks that we have to play them in San Fran again. And if we lose and meet them in the playoffs we likely have to play there yet again.

Good news (not for him) is he'll be hurt by the time the playoffs start.

You're absolutely right.

I'm struggling to establish what reasonable success looks like vs a great 49ers defense. I don't think we're going to hit 30 vs them but my initial thoughts are scoring 22 should be benchmark. The Rams got 23 on them. We have more talent on offense than the Rams. Therefore 22 seems like an achievable number that actually gives us a legit shot to walk out of there with a win.

Well, we're definitely going to see how creative he can get because we're all in agreement that we've been a little too conservative through 4 weeks.

We obviously cannot afford to be conservative this week against this opponent.

So while I know it's still very early in the season, this is McCarthy's first real test and the first time we're going to get an idea of what he really wants this offense to look like in 2023.

I'm eager to see what he comes up.
