One thing that I keep going back to about yesterday's game... During the offseason, Mike McCarthy told us that he was going to be taking the running game more seriously this year. Most national pundits and even fans of the team laughed it off, saying he was always a pass happy guy.

Well, yesterday we ran the ball 44 times. Right into the teeth of a ferocious defense, with a stable of running backs that don't look to be built for that workload. And while the averages aren't beautiful, the final product is. We dominated in T.O.P. and controlled the game from the start.

Is that sustainable? I don't know. But I like it. And maybe this does mean that Ronald Jones will be used when his suspension is up. I loves me some Tony Pollard. But I just don't think he will hold up to the whole season with the kind of load he carried yesterday. But what do we do then? Try to send Leupke to the PS? Duece? Rico?

Or do we do the unthinkable and see what it would take to pry Jonathan Taylor from the Colts?

Hasnt he had a pro bowl , alternate maybe?
Yea last year although I don't think he should be paid like an actual top 3 center in the league, because I don't think he's actually that. Something around 10/year seems fair.

Very Parcells-like, he loved saying it's not necessarily the yards gained but the attempts in the running game to keep things balanced and on schedule.

Visions of THam for 2/3 yards and a cloud.

It also makes 3rd downs more crucial if you are not popping a run here and there. Luckily Prescott has been outstanding on 3rd Down so far.

I wonder if Ronald Jones figures into our plans still. His two game suspension is up now and the Cowboys are going to have to make a decision at RB. He feels like a hard running dude. But on the flip side fumbling is supposedly what got him burried on depth charts. You can't have fumbles from RBs. They are just game killers.

Yea but luckily we won't be playing top 5 defenses or top 5 DT's every week (Lawrence and Williams).
