Remember when they took Tom Brady's SB trophy away for the tuck rule? How about the Ravens not getting any credit for their victory, since there was a clear non-call that affected the end of the game?
I think we agree on what's PI, but our definitions of 'faceguarding' is different. To clarify, a DB is given more leeway with physical contact if he was going for the ball versus not looking at the ball at all.
Had Hitchens been turned 180 degrees with back contacting Pettigrew, it wouldn't have been close to a PI. The fact that Hitchens hadn't turned his head at all, the flag came out because of the 'faceguard' position.
I don't mean to say that if Hitchens were 10 yards trailing his WR and faceguarding that there would be a penalty.
I've seen the Bart Starr QB sneak game considered Ice Bowl II since the Cowboys lost in Green Bay the year before with Meredith throwing a game-losing INT in the end zone.
By the way. I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE how much we went empty backfield.
Or gift-wrapping the SB for Pitts against Seattle in Bettis' last game.
Agreed, except if the WR is trying to come back and make the catch on an underthrown ball or back shoulder throw.
2 weeks off. He'll be fine.
Hey, we're on a 5 game winning streak! We're headed on the road, where we're undefeated! We're facing Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, where he's kinda bad in the playoffs.
We had our 2nd playoff win since 1996. We just avenged Romo's meltdown, last years loss to Detroit, and fuck it, 1991.
I'm still in full on homer mode. Most Super Bowl champions have some close calls. 2003 Pats, 2006 Colts, 2007 Giants all won games in the playoffs by the skin of their teeth. I could look and find a dozen more.
Oh, so he'll be 100% and ready to run around, scramble for first downs? Good to know.
He might get in a practice or two this week. If he trusts to scramble again next week he'll hurt it again . Mobility will be an issue.
Posting after the game is over about posts in game is what is stupid. And, yeah, I think it's a reason to get up in arms.
GOing back to a question I posted about a better indicator of good offense with Dez, Murray going 100+ or Romo with Zero INTs...
...I think the Lions containing Dez was paramount to our offensive struggles. Luckily, we had just enough big plays to win -- we've been accustomed to many 20+ plays as of late, but tonight having TWill was able to make that big ~50 yard TD and Dez had that one big 3rd down conversion was just enough.
We're not an offense that can go 5 yards per play methodically to score. We're a big pass play offense that needs enough DeMarco Murray to set up our big passes.
I think the defensive pressure was the most telling problem. Although I'm glad Romo took sacks instead of throwing picks. It felt like 1 out of every 3 passes was a negative play.GOing back to a question I posted about a better indicator of good offense with Dez, Murray going 100+ or Romo with Zero INTs...

thought we were screwed after Bailey missed the gimme.
there was ice in Dallas? that's the only way IB3 makes sense
That's only when the receiver is being contacted and pushed away from the ball by the defender. On the Hitchen's play the only contact that was made prior to the ball arriving was Hitchens knocking the receiver's arm off of his facemask which is not a penalty.
