Caleb Sturgis missed his fifth XP of the season.

Which brings me to this...XPs are stupid altogether. NFL got what it wants and the XP is still far from interesting. In fact, more missed XPs makes the XP even worse.

Give more significance to a non-football play that nobody cares about.

Just award a TD 6 points, eliminate the XP and make the 2-point conversion a 1-point play.
