I agree with that, too.

I don't. You don't think a WR that can go up and take the ball from DBs (or two of them) would help out any QB? I sure do.

Or when they roll coverage towards him, that it will make going to other receiver a bit easier?

I've been ragging on Weeden a lot, but I read this quote this morning:

Last November, Weeden started in place of injured Romo and struggled in a loss to Arizona. He completed only 18 of 33 passes and threw two interceptions. Weeden said Friday, however, he was still thinking too much instead of reacting.

"I'm not getting in the huddle now and thinking, 'OK, God, what do you call? Is it this? Is it this?'" Weeden said. "That part I'm comfortable with, so now it's just going out and executing. This is the first time I've ever had that and the comfort that gives me as far as the knowledge going to the line of scrimmage, I'm not having to think, 'What are all four receivers doing plus the back? Is the back blocking that guy?' Now I can just go out and play."

"I can throw the ball with the best of them. I can make all the throws. I feel like I'm an accurate thrower," Weeden said. "I've got to be smart. Don't try to do too much. When it's there, take it. And don't miss.

So that gives me some hope.

I just don't trust that Weeden can read the coverages well enough nor deliver the ball well enough to make it an advantage.

Just saw that Lucky Whitehead has "return specialist" in his Twitter profile. o rly?

To think a top 3 WR's return doesn't help any QB is asinine. Even Weeden. They guy will still complete passes. Having Dez catch them instead of somebody like Devin Street isn't an advantage? Ok.

If he can get him the ball, sure.

You're right. Weeden probably won't complete any passes. I don't know what I could have been thinking.

He was 18 for 33 with 3 INTs in his last start, so forgive me for not having a ton of faith in him.

Who said you had to have faith in him? The original statement was that Dez won't do anything until Romo is back. To think that having him play over somebody like Street won't help is just ignorant. Unless you think that Dez won't do any better than what's replacing him now WITH those 18 completions.

Weeden has a laundry list of deficiencies but any qb will do better with a wr that can mask them somewhat by making circus catches

Good lord, man. You have to have Weeden get him the ball or his presence is minimal at best. Even if they double team him, Weeden has to be able to read that and get through his progressions to get it to someone else.

:lol

Like talking to a rock. A retarded one.

I will say this, though. Dez's presence on the sideline is invaluable. So, I suppose you could say that's an improvement over not having him there at least in that capacity.

Dez didn't help him do better than 18 for 33 with 3 INTs. Speaking of retarded.

Time for the OL to step up this week and going forward. How they played the first two games was pretty bad considering their talent level.

Run better, Weeden will relax and let the game come to him. He's just as impulsive as Romo at times if he is asked to throw to win. His thing is he does not recognize things very well at the LOS and will rely on his arm to make throws that simply aren't there.
