Watkins: Cowboys' offseason dates announced

Not too many Mustangs have been deemed as muscle cars. The Boss is the first I remember then the Mach. The Olds 442 was one of the best.

Boss was a high performance short block available in the '69 & '70 Mustangs, which of course also had the 428 Cobra-Jet Ram Air and the Boss 429. This was the years when each Ford, GM & Mopar were all trying to outdo each other in displacement even if it was by a single cubic inch. That gave them bragging rights for the year even if the engine produced less hp at the rear wheels.

And you are forgetting the iconic Mustangs

Shelby GT 350
and
Shelby GT 500 KOR w 427 Cobrajet
or the
'67 GT 500 Super Snake that was fitted with the 427 from the GT40 race car

But the King of the Road GT 500 is probably the most sought after.

I don't really consider the Shelby cars as Mustangs. They were make overs. Detroit didn't produce them they were renovations. But they were muscle cars.
 
Actually, the late 60 models were production vehicles sold through Ford. Shelby just provided the expertise in the model design.

He didn't start "make overs" out of his Las Vegas facility (Like the Saleen) until the late '90s.

Thanks. I'm no expert on cars. I have had an interest in them since the early 50s. There were some nice customs in that era.
 
Sad thing is, offseason dates used to be something I was interested in. I don't really even care anymore. Hell, I don't even know when the draft is.

Jerry is ruining my interest in football.
 
Same here. Just a sad state of affairs.
