I would leverage this information if I were Luepke. Miller appears to have earned a lot of money. More than he will ever see. Hold out, Tyler.

I agree, but how would you even handle the logistics of fulfilling the payment? He just drops by once a week and takes 7 chickens with him for the week? Then he would have to boil them to pluck them, then gut them, then cook them.
 
Watched the full games of Miller last year vs. Philly and Denver, as well as all of his sacks, QB hits and pressures, and the guy definitely still has a bit of juice, just in small doses.

There are plenty of plays where he looks every bit his age and he just gets stonewalled because his bend is nowhere near what it used to be, but you see flashes of the greatness, and I think the idea is if you limit him to about 15-20 snaps a game and put him on a team with our kind of offense that will hopefully have the lead a good chunk of the time, you'll see more of those flashes.

I don't think you even bother with him vs. the run at this point in his career, he's basically exclusively a designated pass rusher, but he's still really good on stunts/twists, the inside spin can still be nasty, and there were a few plays where you saw the old Miller even against high level opponents like McGlinchey, O'Neill and Sewell.

I think there will be large chunks of games (or full games) where he goes unnoticed, but then he'll pop up out of nowhere with a beautiful sack/pressure and we'll all be happy they added him for free.

To me, his tutelage to the young rushers alone makes it worth the $5 mill and no draft resources. His contribution on the field is just an added bonus.
