Same thing goes for movies anyone purchased through their store. It is but a long term rental, not a purchase as they can delete them at their leisure.
The real problem is that even if you want to buy a game on a disc, it's basically never a finished product on that disc, as there's constant updates, changes, and improvements. Sometimes even substantial story changes.
It sucks. Definitely getting into buying physical media for my favorite movies so I have them. Tough to replicate with games. Have to hope that they at least keep the best games available for my lifetime.
Yeah it's kind of crazy how some games are basically busts at first but through the updates you're talking about become great games. Cyberpunk comes to mind as a game I didn't initially buy because it was awful by all accounts at release. But ultimately it became an awesome game.
Yeah I'm playing cyberpunk right now and it's really great. And I hesitated for the same reason as you, at release people said it was awful. Whatever they did it's much better now.
