Play action is broken and the Cowboys entire playbook is play action.
You snap the ball, the handoff animation begins, and by time it ends the LB has read handoff and made a bee line to the spot, instead of reading the play further, and as a result he’s right there to sack the QB as soon as you pull the ball out.
Pretty sure it’s broken in CFB too but UNCs playbook was not heavy play action. Like every pass play in Schottenheimer’s playbook is playaction. I am gonna have to find more of spread passing offense because that’s what I’m used to now from UNC in CFB 25.
