Yeah I haven't spent enough time with this class yet to form a real opinion on the specific players. I guess that's the benefit of having a good NFL team with legit chances this year. I haven't checked out and moved onto the draft yet.

But just a general opinion. TE's in the first rarely get me excited. But like I said, if you can get me a starting caliber WR in a TE's body in the first I'm open to it. They are just rare to find.

He had 1000 yards as a rookie and made the Pro Bowl, it's not his fault he's in Atlanta's poverty offense that throws the ball 16 times a game.

Yea that's fair, there's definitely more 1st round WR's than TE's on average, but I think Mayer is one of the rare elite TE prospects. My only question is his long speed so we'll see what he runs at the Combine but he has great feel to find soft spots in zone, is really good in contested 50/50 jump ball situations, tough after the catch and a really good blocker.

I think he's a better prospect than Hockenson.

I guess the way I look at it is, if you asked me today who would have a bigger impact on my offense, Jordan Addison or Mayer, I'm going to say Addison. The same way that if you ask me who is more impactful Pitts or Jamar Chase. It's Jamar Chase. Doesn't mean Pitts hasn't been a really good TE. (Minus the season ending injury this year) But it's just easier to find a guy who will have a big impact as a receiver as opposed to TE.

Yea I'd agree because I love Addison but if it's Mayer vs. some fringe 1st round WR I'm going Mayer 1000 times out of 1000.

Yeah I'm a big Addison fan going back to last year. I loved Smith-Njigba too but then ghosted this season. The 6'4" TCU kid intrigues me but I need to watch him.

Addison is easily my favorite receiver in this class right now. Smith-Njigba lost my attention this year because I was busy watching Harrison look like a future stud when I watched Ohio State this year.

And odds are Mayer will be gone by our pick anyway. But I'm also very opposed to trading up. Much like last year, even when things felt like they fell horribly for us, we stayed put and got a great player. Trading up is evil to me.

Also Clark Phillips, CB Utah, could be a consideration for us in the 2nd.
