Man, 9 mill a year is a little steep. I wonder what the guaranteed is.

Ugh. If they are paying that, wait for him to prove he deserves it.

Yea I like Crawford but I don't see the reason to hurry up and get a deal done if we're not getting a discount

Exactly what I was afraid of. Jerry sees potential Hatcher in him and pays him for it since he let the other one walk.

I think this deal will be looked at as a steal.

Yeah, I think so too. Cap will be going up over the next few years, and this will be looked at as a good signing. As long as he continues to improve and perform, of course.

What is there to be afraid of the guarantee does not even top 30 million.

He got about 2 million more than Jared Odrick goi over the same 5 years, 500,000 more guranteed.

It's an overpay at this point but it's also a gamble on him improving, and if he does, we could easily be saving. I think worst case scenario he's a guy you wish you were paying about 6-7 a year, if we had let him play out the season I think it's highly likely that he could've demanded about 8-9 following the season anyway if he puts up about 5-7 sacks, and I could very easily see a scenario where he puts up 8+ sacks and could demand 10-11 a year.

By all accounts he had as impressive a camp as anybody and it certainly seems like he is cemented as a top 10 player on the team, and he could perhaps be our best defensive player this year.

It's a Sean Lee deal.

He didn't do us any favors, lets say that. We paid full price with the understanding that if he does have a Pro Bowl type season his cost goes way up.

That's what he would sign for now on the free agent market more then likely. I assume that's what you mean.
