I already have HBO Go so no signing up for anything for me. I get addicted to these pay channel shows and then have no choice but to get all the pay channels.

They are worth trying again. They continue to put out great shows and most of them get a great run.

I have that as well. True Detectives along with Veep, Hello Ladies and Game of Thrones make it all worth it.
 
I didnt think you could get HBOgo unless you were a subscriber.

Local channel has The Jeffersons on now.

I miss the Norman Lear sitcoms.

They were considered on the edge then.

Now, they are practically wholesome.
 
BTW, the Professor from Gilligan's Island died today.

That stupid show was only on three seasons.

It seemed like fucking Bonanza to me.

It only ran 3 seasons? Wow. I thought it was longer, too.
 
Over the weekend I checked out a couple of episodes of this show called 'Friday Night Tykes'. They were talking about it on the radio last week so I decided to see what all the fuss was about.

Basically, it's a reality show about pee-wee football in San Antonio. Thought I'd catch a glimpse of Skid but I haven't seen him yet.

Some of the coaches are straight up douches. The kids look like they're about 8 years old and the coaches are yelling at them as if they're high schoolers.

Also, I was surprised at some of the sophisticated training equipment these programs have. They're running/jumping with restraining ropes, parachutes, sleds, etc. Stuff that you would only expect to see at the high school level.

If you want to check it out it's on the Esquire channel. Channel 235 on DirecTV.

You can get the Jeffersons, Sanford and Son and the rest of your black sitcom fix on TV1 (DirecTV 328).

If you're really feeling ethnic mix in a little Centric at channel 330.

I think Mike or his niece will be involved with the cult. Mike felt left out to dry. Also, it is funny that they replaced the black cop and brunette from last year with a brunette and a black guy this year.
 
What were people's thoughts on Black Sails? I thought it was pretty good. I'm definitely curious to see how the show progresses.
 
Has anyone watched HBO's, True Detective? Have recorded 2 episodes, but reviews are not great.
 
I don't see how you can go wrong with those 2 leads. And yes, I thought the pilot was pretty good.
