TV Thread

It depends on how many stories in the bible you think are meant to be literally true and how many are meant to be parables.

Spoken like a true Christian.

Science is awe-inspiring to me, but it is disheartening and annoying that there can't even be a show about some of its most interesting bits without a particular element of self-important types being all, "Unnh, yeah, pulsars! Take THAT Christians!!"

Whatever.

Well, it's a big part of the conversation in today's world. But, this show hasn't really done that. It just argues the science side of it. You really should watch it if you haven't. There is a piece of it that touches on why science takes this stance, but it's not strong against creationists.

I think he was talking about you, not NDT.

I work odd hours and don't have a dvr, so I will watch it when I can binge watch on Netflix or something. I don't mean Tyson himself or the show. I'm speaking more of the internet horde who, by virtue of having read part of The God Delusion, are all experts in naturalist philosophy.

I do hope the show gives due props to Father Georges Lemaitre for the big bang theory.

Just watch it when you get a chance. If you watch it with an open mind (which I know you have) you will enjoy it.

What the heck?! Why didn't someone @skid to let me know that religion had slipped into this thread? You greedy thread hoarders!

It did.

But do we really have to have the same played out retarded argument in this thread, too?

:lol No kidding...hai guyz...you should watch this show. BTW, god does not exist. kthxbai

It doesn't. I do not get why evolution disputes the idea there is a God.

Shows that at one time were good, but now suck:

1) American Idol
2) Survivor
3) Hell's Kitchen

As an aside...Chopped is always good.

I like Chopped and if you havent tried it you should try Cutthroat Kitchen. I absolutely love the sabotages they go through. Worst Cooks in America is also worth some laughs.

I like Worst Cooks...not a fan of Cutthroat. I actually like Guy's Grocery Games too...sadly.

Tried that one but didn't like it as much. I watch the Celebrity Challenge as well and Herschel Walker won this past season. That guy can cook..
