Training Camp Thread...

So basically Romo might play one preseason game. Thank god he has been looking good in practice. I guess with RGIII getting hurt Jerry probably has his nuts up in his stomach.

Did he play much during preseason last year? I don't remember, but I doubt he did. And aside from the entire team sleepwalking thru the first game, he did just fine. He's a vet that knows how to prepare. It doesn't bother me if he hardly plays a down during PS.

Didn't play the first game, probably played 2 or 3 series in the 2nd and then about a half or so in the 3rd.

So no, basically.

If most of the key members of the OL won't be available I'd definitely sit him.

Cole Beasley (Achilles) on return to practice: No setback, ‘so I’m good to go’

OXNARD, Calif. – While running a route near the end of Monday’s practice against the St. Louis Rams, Cole Beasley strained his Achilles.

The fourth-year wide receiver returned to practice on Thursday.

“I feel pretty good,” Beasley said. “It was pretty sore the other day. I was able to go [Thursday]. It’s only going to improve. I didn’t have any setback, so I’m good to go.

“It’s just something minor. No big deal.”

Beasley, who a career-high four touchdowns and 420 receiving yards last season, had two consecutive days off because the Cowboys didn’t practice Wednesday. The former SMU standout talked about the significance of having a couple days off.

“We’ve been grinding every day, having one day off every 3-4 days, so two days would make a world of difference to me,” he said. “You can do so much in two days.”

In the sports world, the words Achilles injury automatically strikes fear. A torn Achilles tendon is likely a season-ending setback.

Beasley said he never feared the worst.

“I felt it and knew it wasn’t too bad,” he said. “I wasn’t too worried.”

Coaches must not be happy with Wilber.

Well, this isn't good.

I think Gachkar looked pretty good the other night. He might have a little something, at least as a decent backup for now.

Still not a bad starting line.

No but I would really like to see the whole line together for at least a few minutes during the preseason. Or at least Martin or Leary back for the dress rehearsal game. I know we want to protect against injury but it's also important to get some continuity going between that group of guys before the season starts. Not to mention I want to make sure Romo is as safe as possible if he is playing significant minutes in a preseason game.

Martin should be back, they said he wouldn't be out more than about a week, and I think he can play without much practice time. No clue what Leary's back situation is though.
