The Work Thread..

I had to fire a dozen associates today for integrity.

All of these dumb asses made decisions that cost themselves $60K jobs.
We just had a meeting last week because some dummy was committing timecard fraud. Dude had a job paying a little over $90K per year and pissed it away because he chose to disappear for several hours at a time during the day while still charging those hours to the contract.

Worst part is we had to have mandatory meeting about it and now they're cracking down on how we take lunch breaks, regular breaks, and restricting the timeframe people can work their 8 hours.

Because of the nature of our work we had the flexibility to come to work any time we chose.....assuming there's no ongoing crisis. Now they're demanding that everyone work between the hours of 6 AM - 5 PM so they can better monitor employee activity.

Doesn't impact me because I always go in at 7 AM but there are a couple of people in my section who like to come in around 2 AM and they are pissed they're essentially being "punished" for something someone else did.

Okay, I have now quoted and sold enough policies that I can answer any questions about it from our brethren. But, more importantly, if you have been thinking about changing your insurance company, I can get you a free quote and you won't have to mess with a salesman (producer) hounding you every day. Farmers has 8 sister companies that I can quote through to get the best premium. Anyway, it's a standing offer if anyone wants it. Even if you don't buy a policy it is good to know if you're paying too much with your current policy.

Of course, you have to be in Texas for me to actually sell you a policy. I'm only licensed in TX and NM for now. Our agency is planning on branching out to other states, but for now it's only Texas and the weird state to the west of us.

So, at work, I am the third oldest in the office. The rest are mid to late 20s. And, I can tell you, their idea of a good office environment is different than mine. Yesterday, they walked around doing some stupid ass game where you chose a slip of paper out of a coffee cup and you had to follow the instructions on the paper, like you are at a fucking bridesmaid party or some shit. The whole time I am sitting at my desk like a fucking boomer scowling at them. I was trying to get work done (talking on the phone for part of it) and those fucking whippersnappers kept fucking with me. Fucking millennials.

Yeah the good thing about where I work is there are just 6 of us here in our building, all of us are retired Navy and 4 of us worked/were stationed together at one time or another because we all did the same thing in our Navy days. One is a retired Navy nuke and the only one out of whack is his analyst that just graduated college, but when he tries doing stupid millennial shit he's shut down pretty quick.
