The Work Thread..

This woman keeps talking like you’re getting the payout from your life insurance policy. “Invest in yourself”. No, you ninny muggins, I’m investing in my death.

Finally home and away from that catastrophe that is a woman. Earlier, I was like...

Now, I'm more like...

I haven't once had any desire for alcohol since I quit. Not once. No cravings. Nothing. Today, I could have used a god damn beer. :lol

That’s really pretty amazing. And rare. I’m glad it’s been smooth sailing for you. Days like today will make you stronger.

My penance has been more physical than mental. Not physical in the sense of the shakes or anything like that. I’m fairly sure I have somehow developed neuropathy. My feet hurt almost constantly. I can scratch my thigh and it tickles down into my lower leg and foot. It has gotten better but not a ton. My withdrawals have been the exact opposite I thought they would. I thought the cravings would be bad but I would feel better physically (which I have in some ways) but it has been basically the opposite.

Have you talked to your doctor? If you haven’t, please do that soon

Have you ever heard of it affecting other people like this? It seems like it would be rare. The physical stuff I mean. Btw, overall, it has gotten way better than when I got home. I was in a wheelchair when I left that hospital. So much better than that.

On a light note, I have come up with a name for after I detoxed. I’m calling it the post-candemic. :lol

Yeah, it’s fairly common in long time drinkers but it stops progressing when you stop drinking and will often heal over time, not really sure on the time frame but nerve damage takes a little while. Get plenty of exercise and drink lots of water. But talk to your doctor first

Does building cornhole boards count as exercise? :unsure

And I drink tons of tea. That has lots of water in it.

No, that doesn’t count bro. Even just going for walks in the evening will make a difference.

Too many stray dogs that people drop off from town to walk. But, we have a treadmill that I use. Not as often as I should but about twice a week.

Perfect. Just get on it a little more often.
