The Outrage Thread

Hitler breathed air... Trump breathes air.

Hitler drank water... Trump drinks water.

I don't see how we can deny these uncanny similarities.

A "write-down" of an investment by 50% means the University of California (UC) officially reduced the recorded value of its ~$115 million stake in that NYC real estate fund (or a closely related one) to about half its previous value on its books.

Simple breakdown:

  • Original recorded value: ~$115 million.
  • After 50% write-down: Now valued at roughly $57.5 million (a $57.5 million loss recognized).
  • This is an accounting adjustment reflecting that the investment is now worth significantly less (or is expected to generate much lower returns) due to real economic problems.

Why did this happen?

In the context of the A&E Real Estate fund (the one tied to Sergey Brin's sale):

  • The fund holds thousands of rent-stabilized apartments in NYC.
  • Revenue is capped by rent regulations/freezes, while costs (maintenance, taxes, utilities, debt, code compliance) have risen sharply.
  • The fund is reportedly sitting on $84 million in unpaid rent and facing foreclosure risk on a large loan.
  • Investors like Brin are exiting at huge discounts (6 cents on the dollar), signaling distress.

UC’s investment team looked at these realities (declining property performance, market conditions, and likely lower future cash flows or sale prices) and marked the asset down to a more realistic current value. This is a conservative, standard practice under accounting rules (e.g., GAAP) to avoid overstating the value of their portfolio.

You watch, the libs will blame the billionaires for bolting. "See, the billionaires don't care about the poor!" Watch.

If I was one of those billionaires, I would say, "Fuck the poor," just to see how they'd react.

fucking ghouls

How in tf did they keep that many kids in those filthy conditions for that long? Fucking disgusting. Instead of arresting them, they should’ve made them kneel and shot them all in the back of the head with a Mossberg

You can have whatever opinion you want. This is a free country. But, don't you dare do this shit in uniform. Fuck you.

Why is it that the Spaniards are never raked over the coals? Cortes and his merry band of rape and pillage never get talked about. They were the ones that raped and murdered the indians all the way to the west coast and caused them to flee to South America. Hell, the Mexican people are the offshoot of Spaniard and American Indian they raped so many women. It's an interesting conundrum for the left, because Spaniards are CAUCASIAN, yet no one ever talks about those white men. Why?

You know why.

You know why.
I know. It's a mostly rhetorical question, but it pisses me off that they have just re-written history and the vast majority of people never question it. There is a reason I can't watch most documentaries any more about history. They end up just pissing me off because they are so factually incorrect.
