After watching AC/DC open the Grammys with Highway to Hell it makes me sort of glad that Bon Scott died young.![]()
One band I have not seen live that I regret...need to see them.

So, biggest music "geniuses" in long time, including, branding, music, voice, performance, presence and just pure talent are, IMO:
Elvis, Phil Spector, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, John Lennon and Prince. Not a bad list, but it also proves I am somewhat old; anyone else better now?
And then there is this, which still makes me a little sad.
There are so many I consider to be musical geniuses...Eddie Van Halen of course, close to my heart, but he revolutionized the electric guitar. Jimmy Page much the same...Pete Townsend as well. Freddie Mercury and Elton John are in there as well. Can't deny Michael Jackson either...quite a few other soul/R&B artists too...Al Green, George Clinton, etc. The omission of Paul McCartney is glaring to me. I think I'd throw Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen in there too. Run DMC and Public Enemy as well.
More current...hard to say, I think Dave Grohl will be looked back as a genius. Rick Rubin has had a massive impact on music too. Jay Z as well. I hate for this generation to not have any true rock bands or guitar heroes to look up to.
Thom Yorke/Radiohead and Tool is what I consider the best of the current guys and though I don't like it one bit have to give a tip of the hat to Pitbull for just dropping like shit hit after shit hit...
I was going to say Thom Yorke, but I got the album OK Computer and had no idea WTF I was listening to.
