The Immigration/Deportation/ICE Thread



This is aiding and abetting an insurrection at best, but more accurately, treason.

I mean they are though. Maybe not intentionally. But by blanket trying to prevent ICE from doing their job, you are hindering their ability to arrest these types of people. And you are then in turn helping guys like this.

Of course there are two sides to every coin. So I'm sure those who are impeding ICE have an example of some mom who has been a major bonus to the community for decades but was never a legal citizen, that is now being detained by ICE as sort of their rallying cry for who they are protecting.

The truth is they are protecting both. The good with the bad.

This should be the starting point for them to negotiate. Without a doubt, there are tons of good, hardworking immigrants who may have arrived here illegally but have acclimated well and are possibly assets to their communities. But this blind, hostile stance to protect even the dangerous ones is fucking irrational and does not inspire people to their cause.

And honestly, I don’t know what criteria you could use to make these determinations. They just never seem interested in compromise. They want everything their fucking way.
 
I dunno. Yeah, there are good people here that are not causing a bit of problems that came in illegally. I get that. But there are also people that came in illegally that are causing chaos. Maybe there could be a way that once they are detained (yes, good or not they are still in this country ILLEGALLY), if they can show that they have been holding a job, not just sucking off the government's tit, and do not have a serious arrest record, they are put on the fast track to citizenship. Acquire a SSN. Pay taxes. If you can not show these things, GTFO.
