The only tragedy in any of this is that it’s avoidable.

Elected officials on the left are encouraging the death of their citizens by asking them to fight against federal law.

There’s no other way to look at it. It’s okay to not like laws, but it’s not smart to go up against them and expect a great outcome for yourself.

Wrong. The state can be involved but it is no way necessary.

To enforce federal authority (§ 252)
  • Whenever the president considers that unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against U.S. authority, make it impracticable to enforce federal laws via ordinary judicial proceedings.
  • No state request is required; the president can act unilaterally.
 
Poorly trained officers combined with the suggestion that they have absolute immunity. What could possibly go wrong?
 
So Alabama and other southern states were working with the federal government when Eisenhower sent them in?

Mistakes will be made during mass deportation made necessary by the previous administration opening the gates. 2 people have died during protests because of their own actions. 56 died during Obama's deportation efforts. Where was the outrage then?

Did you miss "usually"? Never did I say it was necessary.

You use it on a state without their cooperation, and you are going down a path you don't want to venture with a (D) executive.

It hasn't been invoked in 34 years and only twice in the last 58 years. There is no "usually" when it comes to today's political dynamics. And invoking it unilaterally isn't going to change shit. They are already rioting so what else is the invocation going to cause? It needs to be ended.
