The Immigration/Deportation/ICE Thread

This is the type of bullshit that makes millions loathe ICE.

So a few controversial incidents-among millions, mind you-is a reason to get so far up your asses about abolishing ICE, you sound like raving lunatics.

Velasquez came to the United States in 2021 hoping to start a new life far from the violence and political instability of her native Venezuela. She does not have a criminal record and presented herself to immigration officials in Miami when she arrived in the country.

In the meantime, Velasquez, 25, settled into life in Austin. She picked up a job at a local car wash and took classes to get her real estate license.

Well, if NBC says it, it must be true. They’ve never been known to sensationalize stories to push a narrative

This is the type of bullshit that makes millions loathe ICE.
1. Record-High Numbers with Broad Reach Beyond "Serious Criminals"
  • Despite stated priorities, many deportations involved people with minor offenses or no criminal record.
    • Reports showed sharp increases in deportations for traffic violations (including DUI), immigration offenses, and minor misdemeanors—sometimes comprising half of those classified as "criminal" deportees.
    • Non-criminal deportations declined later but remained high early on, fueling claims that enforcement was overly broad and not truly focused on threats.
2. Limited Due Process and Reliance on Fast-Track Mechanisms
  • A large portion (often 75%+ in some analyses) used expedited removal, administrative removal, or reinstatement of prior orders—processes with minimal or no immigration judge review, limited access to lawyers, and few appeals.
  • Critics (e.g., ACLU, Migration Policy Institute) argued this prioritized speed over fairness, deporting people without full hearings, sometimes back to danger (e.g., asylum seekers with "credible fear" claims mishandled).
  • For Central American families/asylum seekers (surge in 2014), rushed processes and family detention led to inadequate opportunities to present claims, violating due process in some views.

This sound familiar? Well, this is the Grok result for Obama's deportation plan.

Listen, you muppet, the first amendment doesn't allow you to go on/in private property to assemble. That's like me showing up to Lemon's house and walking and yelling "MAGA FOREVER!" and refusing to leave. It's called trespassing, you fuckstick. It also violated the FACE Act. Which should land Lemon in jail, but we will see.

Fucking miserable street communists, that's all those filthy losers are.

:picard

BTW, in case anyone is wondering, yes the local cops have been told to stand down. This shit is going to keep happening until arrests are made. Or, they can come to Texas and try that shit and the cops part won't even matter.

I’m waiting for them to show up.

Wouldn't you want people who did this to be considered radical so you can distance yourself from this kind of radical behavior? Why the hell would you embrace it like its normal for your party to trespass on private property and break the law to protest ICE? If someone on the right did something dumb like this I damn sure would want them labeled as radical so its clear that is not what our side is about.

@0:59... why the long face?

But more seriously... that is what their side is about.

Exactly. And that's my main problem with the left. They won't disavow these mfs and just silently condone it.
