The Gun Thread

I'm gonna spend some time going over this in the next few days.

Since I hit the Harvey jackpot my wife is looking for presents for me.

Accuracy from my Palmetto State Armory AR10 today. 100 yards, off a rear and front bag. 147 grain Winchester ammo. top left 2 shots are the final sight in.

Its bolt action accurate.

Paid 599.00 for it.

This whole gun debate has inspired me to buy more guns.

Springfield .45

Cheapo Mossberg 88 20ga for for rattlesnakes and so forth. There is this impending doom feeling with all the gun haters out and about. I think I'll stock up on guns just to feel Mercan!

This is the exact one I got. Mine did not have iron sights or an A-frame sight at the front. This is probably more for people who want to do more customization, it comes stripped down (and thus cheaper).

Here's the "standard configuation" of that rifle, though. Note the A-frame sight on the barrel. Will also have flip up sights at the back to line up with the A-frame.

Here's another A-frame version with a cooler handguard, allowing for M-lok standard attachments:

I'd do some research. Youtube is a great resource, actually. Actually, here is the website that kicked me off on my learning. Very good, very thorough base. This is the resource that got me interested in the rifle I ended up getting:

https://www.pewpewtactical.com/best-ar-15/

^ You see there it lists best rifles across all price points very early in the article and mentions the Smith and Wesson MP 15 Sport 2. Also the Aero Precision, I've heard Ruger 556 is good, but those maybe you can't find for as good of deals. Those are mid-tier rifles along with the Smith and Wesson MP 15 Sport 2, but you can get the S&W for bottom tier prices right now.

A lot of that website gets very in depth, but it's great as a starting point, really. If you need to save time, make sure you check out the bottom where he names the manufacturers by tier, and then gives "Specific recommendations" by price point.

Thanks for the tip. Get me an AR!

I want to order or build another, but I need to buy a new 300 Win Mag hunting rifle this year.

Just my AR is scheduled to come in today. What accessories do I need to buy for t?

I feel that when I go pick up my gun today I will be spending more money than I had planned in an impulsive fashion.
