The Gun Thread

That's a no from me, dawg. Can you imagine stretching it out in the morning and accidentally opening that just to take a shotgun stock to the face?

I love these videos. The Desert Eagle is a beast.

Walked into PSA and saw this on sale. Sig bolt action AR platform in 6.5 Creedmoor. The scope is actually crystal clear, and fits the gun well. 3-18x44 Whiskey Six.

Took it out and was easily ringing steel at 700 yards.

That is fucking beautiful, brother.

Oh, and holy shit.
The 6.5 Creedmoor gets a lot of shit but it’s such a nice cartridge to shoot. Minimal recoil, and the bullet selection is nice. A guy at the range I shoot at holds the record for a 129 grain 6.5 CM hitting a steel plate at 1 mile. Fucking impressive.

Holy fuck. That is incredible. What optics?

Just sighted my buddies 308 cross. Fantastic rifle. The folding hinge will make you want to throw it across the yard though. lol My god I felt stupid.

I have a .308 PSA. It's not a Cross, but it is still an excellent rifle. I have really good sight lines from the top of a Siberian Elm behind my house so I could pick a mofo off from a long way away trying to come up on my property. I need to get a better optic for it, but just haven't yet.

Are you looking for a tactical scope or hunting, or a little of both? First or second focal plane?

Tactical/First
I’m impressed with the Sig scopes. Give them a look if you want to stay in the 1000/under dollar range.

Another one I like for the money is Burris. They have really stepped it up in their tactical lineup. Japanese ED glass….its right there with German glass and Schott glass you see in the ultra high end scopes.

Yeah, definitely wanting to stay in the under $1000 group. I have looked at a few Sigs in the past but just never pulled the trigger, so to speak. I have never really looked into Burris. I'll check them out.

The SIG Tango line is pretty awesome. I have three Tango 4's. Honestly I can do anything with them that I can with my Nightforce stuff, and they are a ton cheaper than Nightforce.
A Tango is the one I am looking at now. This is about what I'm wanting to spend right now. It's also a FFP which is what I prefer. I don't like shooting with a second focal plane. I'm just not as good with them.

FFP is always better when you want better accuracy. I still use second on my hunting scopes, but first for everything else. When SIG started making their optics, they lured some of Leopold's people away. They make good stuff. I have never needed customer service with them, but I have heard theirs is on par with Leupy and Vortex, which is about as good as it gets. You should be very happy with that scope.
