I swear I was just about to google "St. John's Redskins" to see if this story aligned with the other until I saw this post.

It's a preposterous story. Some 10th grade kid made the entire team and coaching staff sign a contract that they wouldn't cuss anymore in order to get him to play?

Also, he refused to watch his nephews play even though they were on a team with nothing but swell guys who all swore to never cuss because the team mascot was named the Redskins?

I've never seen team that was both so admirable yet so dispicable at the same time. Only in Hostile's world, I guess.

So did this angel in cleats allow them to at least talk to the ref if he made a mistake that directly led to them losing? Or was all interaction with the refs off limits?

I just skimmed what he wrote and completely missed the no arguing with the ref. Hell, it was absurd to me with just the no cussing thing. I highly doubt there is an entire coaching staff anywhere in America where everyone of the coaches don't cuss. The no arguing with the ref thing is flatout fantasy.

Duh! They didn't need to argue with the refs because they never lost again, they (I suppose) won all games by 3+ scores

So, This Opinion Will Not Be Popular With Some Posters

Under no circumstance do I want a QB taken in round 1. Yes, I like Paxton Lynch, Connor Cook, and Jared Goff very much. Yes, I want a capable backup for Tony Romo. Yes, I always want us to find a QB to groom.

I do not like taking RBs in round 1. I would take a RB over a QB at this point. My reason is simple. I want our 1st round pick to be a day 1 starter, and a QB will not be. Not while Tony Romo is still capable, and spare me the talk about him being fragile. I am not buying that one.

RT, CB, OLB, S, WR, and DL I am immediately interested. For the right RB, meaning Ezekial Elliott, I will once again throw my agenda into reverse. Please no QB in round 1.

I will respect all who disagree, but you're out of the will.

There was a post from someone else who made the point that even if Romo could come back for the playoffs, would you really want to bench the guy who has won 4 in a row or 5 in a row to get us there? I'd stay with the hot hand, myself, and I'm one of the biggest Romo supporters on the planet. It would remind me of Kansas City years ago. I think Grbac was their QB who got injured. The backup came in, established a rapport and timing with the receivers and led them to the playoffs. The starter got healthy, the coach reinstated him as the starter and they got eliminated in his 1st game back.

Steve Beuerlein won 5 in a row for us in 1992. Aikman got healthy and he took back his starting spot and was the Super Bowl MVP. The answer is yes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it 91 when Beuerlein stepped in for Aikman and got us to the playoffs, and then we put Aikman back in against the Lions and got our asses kicked? I mean, I'm no historian so maybe I'm mixed up here
