The man looked sick. SICK, I TELL YOU!!Hostile said:I am not making this up. About 2 years ago, every time I made a bet with them I won it and got free haircuts. I didn't pay for a hair cut all year.
They quit betting with me.
This guy is new and a Raiders fan. He doesn't think Dallas will win more than 6 games and bet Cisco, the shop owner, $100 on that. I wanted in on that, but he was too scared. This is the first time I have gone this deep on a bet. Usually I just bet a game.
May my streak continue. After we shook on it, I asked out loud, "Cisco, have you ever seen me lose a football bet?" He said, "Honestly, nope." The guy I had just bet with looked sick after he said that.
Cisco semmss like a genuinely mellow fellow aND all around great guy.
The Thong Song was pretty catchy.

I wonder how he has access to search through confiscated evidence? Isn't that stuff supposed to be sealed in a police locker as admissible evidence for a court case? You'd think letting any schlub off the street rifle through it would be against procedure.Hostile said:I Pulled Off a Near Miracle Last Night
In December I will hit 25 years of marriage to my wonderful wife. About three years ago a thief broke into the house where we were staying and stole her wedding ring. It is the worst thing you can take from a woman other than her kids. I have been unable to replace her ring in the three years since. At one time she found a little cheap replica for $35 and bought it.
I did everything I could to find her ring. I scoured pawn shops. I searched any avenue I could find where stolen gold was sold. I read police blotter stuff and searched confiscated evidence for any sign of her ring.
I never had any luck.
I really wanted to be able to give her a ring for this coming anniversary. She deserves it. As you all have figured out about me by now, I'm an egotistical, hard headed guy quite often. My wife is the exact opposite. All of my bad traits are her strengths. She's wonderful, and I adore her. I know she is way too good for me.
It didn't look like it was going to happen. Yesterday I said a prayer that I could find something online that was at least kind of close. I searched through about 3 different jewelry chains, and nothing they sell looked even close. Which isn't surprising given it was 25 years ago. I still felt I had to try.
It was time to pray for a miracle and I did. When I finished praying I felt like i needed to search ebay.
I found a ring almost identical and for only $599. I brought my kids in to see it. They agree it is so close that really only the 4 of us would ever know it is not the original.
I can't believe it.
We are going out to dinner that night and I intend to give it to her. It is supposed to be a silver anniversary, but I am giving her gold. It was such an incredible day yesterday.
I'll move this off the main page later.
What about her eyes or her face or her ability to walk or literally ANYTHING ELSE, shit, her CAR, for fuck's sake. My wife wouldn't cry about any purely material thing but would be heartbroken if someone took our small dog, for instance. My wife's ring cost 12 dollars and is made of stainless steel. If she lost it I could work one hour of overtime to get her one that would be much better. In December I will hit 25 years of marriage to my wonderful wife. A wedding ring is nothing. It's just a small piece of metal.
Of course it's important to them. I agree it's more than just a small piece of metal, but let's not get carried away here. To claim that it's the absolute most important thing to them behind only their children is playing up dramatics to a retarded crowd. Not to women. Take it from a man who has been in this institution of marriage with the same woman for over 55 years.

My wife lost her ring about 9 years ago. She was upset, but got over it pretty quickly. She's smart enough to know that it's only a symbol. Not the marriage itself.
I bought my wife's first wedding ring for 5 bucks from a woman who had recently divorced and just wanted to get rid of it.![]()

So I had on one of my Cowboys ties. I wear one after a loss. I've been wearing them for nearly two months now. It sucks. I do it so people don't have to ask me if they are still my team. That would be a silly question. I am never going to change. Not even a son-in-law who plays for another team could get me to like another team. Nothing can.
This guy said, "You need to get rid of that tie."
"There is literally no chance of that."
"Well, at the very least you have to get rid of Romo."
"You clearly haven't watched this season."
"I have watched, you've lost like 5 games in a row."
"7 and Tony Romo has missed all 7 games."
"He got benched?"
"No, he got hurt."
"Sounds like him, he's always hurt."
"Is he? Mind telling me when he was hurt last year?"
"Well, maybe not last year, but the year before last."
"No, he hasn't missed a game since 2010."
"I thought he had missed some."
"It's not working for you."
"What's not working for me?"
"Thinking, especially if you think Tony Romo is the problem on my football team."
"You just said you've lost 7 in a row."
"Right, and I told you he has been injured. With him, we win 6 of those 7 easy."
"So you're telling me that the only reason you've been losing games is because you haven't had Romo?"
"No, I'm telling you the reason we've been losing games is because we haven't had him, Dez Bryant, or DeMarco Murray, our three best offensive weapons from last year."
"What happened to Dez?"
"He got hurt too."
"Is Murray hurt too?"
"He signed with the Eagles in Free Agency."
"That's probably why they're a Super Bowl favorite right now."
"They're actually a train wreck right now. I won't be shocked if they end up dead last in the division. I think 3rd at best."
"Really? Why do you say that?"
"Terrible QB, terrible OL, terrible secondary."
"Oh come on man, you've gotta love Nick Foles. Wildcats baby."
"I do love Nick Foles, but he's not in Philly any more."
"He isn't?"
"Nope, he's in St. Louis."
"I bet he's tearing it up there."
"He just got benched."
"Well, I don't know all this stuff, but you really need to listen to me man. Romo is what's wrong with your team."
"I just took you to school and you still think I need to listen to you? I've forgotten more about football than you will ever know, and I haven't forgotten much."
"What's that mean?"
"Basically that you have no idea what you're talking about and think you're some kind of authority. You didn't get even one thing right, and still think you impressed me with your knowledge. You might want a career in politics."

And you thought you had a bad day. At least you didn't have to put up with that.
ologan said:Hey Hos, do you have two Cowboys ties??? Switch ties!!!
Hostile said:I had 6. I gave one to my nephew Zach and one to a Korean War veteran in need of a new tie at church. He wears it every Sunday.
Damn.
