It isn't dead until the trade deadline has passed. The fact remains Minnesota is making a mistake playing hardball with a guy they are going to waive after this season if they do not trade him. They should strike while the iron is hot, not waive a white flag.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

I will not give up hope until we select a RB, and I will also say this, if we go RB in round 1 I'd prefer to go ahead and build for the future by taking Bryce Petty if he's there in the 2nd than to look at Defense. Again, that is IF we go RB in round 1.

I dont see a RB taken at all.

Hostile said:
By Dallas? If so you must think they are gambling that Minnesota will release Peterson or trade him after the draft.

SDogo said:
I think they will be just fine going in with Randall, Dunbar, Williams and McFadden plus I think they will add a FA or two. I dont see a RB drafted or AP acquired. If the opportunity prese ts itaelf to add a RB at good value im sure they will ententertain but I think the fans see it as a bigger issue then the Cowboys do.

Fake fraud insider crime on fake fraud insider crime?

Funny how 90% positive has degenerated into "hope", yet nobody questions it.

there will be a Cortez's City of Gold of comedy in there

Waive a white flag, huh?

I would hate that. Not the taking a RB, but taking Petty in the 2nd. Romo has a couple years or so left, and we can win with a rookie RB. Then a 2nd yr RB, etc... We need defensive help. Not a QB that will do nothing behind Romo. And that's not even taking into consideration that I sincerely doubt Petty will ever be a good starter in this league.

I want to win this year. That is why I want Peterson and our picks to be Defense focused. If we go RB in the 1st I think we are basically giving up on this year. RB in the 3rd or later doesn't bother me.

All due respect, that line of thinking is absolute rubbish. The season isn't a wash if we don't land our precious Adrian Peterson and we end up drafting a stud RB in the 1st (which will have a bigger impact on our team THIS SEASON than ANY defensive player we could take from this ENTIRE draft, including Williams).

Giving up on this year by taking a back in the 1st? Please. That's drama just for drama's sake. If I heard a single player or coach on my team even utter such a thing, his ass would be on the street before his feet even realized that they weren't in the building anymore. Again, with all due respect, that's the outlook of a coward or a quitter. Thank god this team doesn't seem to have any.

Why would we be giving up on the year with a rookie RB? It's one of the easiest transitions to come right in and perform right away. Tony Dorsett ring a bell? If anything, drafting the 2nd round QB would signal giving up on the year.

But drafting a 3rd round RB or later doesn't bother you? Meaning you think we'd NOT be giving up on the year if we went with the RBs already on the roster starting, or the 3rd or later RB...?

He's running around over there telling anybody who'll listen that he'd like to take Petty in the 2nd, and that if we want him, we'd better get him there because he won't make it out of the 2nd round. Some other clown named Flinger latched on to suckle at Hostile's ample tit, and proclaimed that Petty reminds him of Tom Brady...

Oh, and taking Petty in the second as a way to build for the future is a ridiculously stupid idea.

damn. Colonel Angus straight up pulled a historian move with Super Bowl bound Cowboys with rookie Dorsett.

check your PM

"If we use you first round pick to cement our continuation of what got us to 12-4 last year, we have given up on this year, and should take a below average QB with our 2nd pick to like pick on the future and stuff."

God damn, man. You can't make shit like that up.

well, you weren't there with a stopwatch like hos was.

Truth. Nor do I know Greg down at True Hardware who knows a guy who is the barber for Petty's agent who said that the Cowboys have great interest.

i wonder what level of funny it would be if i started posting hos' opinions over at the zone.

new thread: "Petty in the 2nd. If we care about our future"

You would probably be met with derision. Most over there don't care for Petty.

But if Hostile posted it...GREAT POST HOS!

Why would you want to let him know that somebody is posting his stuff elsewhere? So basically... Don't.

i think you underestimate the insider-scoop-cred i have there. Im like #3 behind sdogo

HOSTIlE-ISH INSIGHT, PDOM! GREAT POST!!!!

Agreed. The laffs would be rather lame or even worse the comments deleted.

Oh, for Christ's sake. Apparently, this fag had a little time to think about his previous post. Where he actually had the temerity to question his Great Leader's statement of saying the season would be a give up if we drafted a RB in the first. He posted this without any response from Hostile to his other post where he actually showed a slight glimmer of a brain and spine of his own.

I'll give you time, Hos. This whole Peterson thing has you in a bit of a twist and I get it. It's no secret how badly you want the guy. Reality is starting to sink in that the probability is shrinking by the minute. Your disappointment is understandable. But, the post that I quoted is NOT the Hos that I know or have come to respect so much. You're caught in the moment of it all and thoughts (and emotions) are hitting the keyboard before they blink at any filters (self imposed or otherwise).

Once this all passes and we get into training camp you'll be the "all in" Hos you've always been and I'll be right there with ya, dude. To be honest, whether we get the guy or not, I can't wait for it all to be over so we can all refocus (the team and the fans) on beating some ass on the way back up the hill. You'll be leading the charge and we'll all be right next to you. Again, all due respect, Hos. All due respect.

That's just embarrassing. Have some God damn self respect.
