Just for grins I pulled up a @AdrianPeterson timeline on tweetdeck, he's getting a mention from fans couple times every minute. Seriously doubt he even noticed the tweet from a nobody like Hos

New bit of news from me that to my knowledge is not out there anywhere and should stay here. I can confirm for you that Adrian Peterson, or his agent, upon contacting the Dallas Cowboys AFTER being given permission to do so (thus avoiding tampering charges), did in fact tell the Cowboys they would negotiate a new deal in order to come here. I was further told that if he is traded it will be to Dallas, and only Dallas. Forget the Raiders, Cardinals, and Jaguars stuff. Remember when I told you he was only going to negotiate with us? I was right. They have not contacted other teams at this point, because there is no need to.

If you are then you're being a little premature. I have more. I repeat for the third time please let this info stay on this forum. Tonight I was told that a deal in principle for a new contract has been reached.

Note the words "in principle." Folks, this could all still fall apart. I don't think it will though.

The inevitable question following that bit of news is how much? I am told it is $8 million a year for 3 years. No idea on guaranteed money. I do not know how accurate this is yet. Only one person is sharing that with me right now.

Okay, so this begs the question. What's it going to cost to get him away from the Vikings?

Do you remember when Bryan Broaddus said he heard our offer was this year's 2nd and 3rd? I am hearing that may have been real. I also hear that is off the table. If it is, I hate to say this, but it probably means we are sending pick #27 to Minnesota for Peterson. I'd rather not, but I won't care if we win a Super Bowl, and I think this makes us the easy favorite to do so if we pull this off.

I was told earlier today, and I think I shared it here. The Vikings are going to make one big final push to get him back before they make any deal. I do not know as of right now when this is going to happen, but once again there will be a meeting with Peterson and Vikings brass.

Prediction...he is not going to change his mind.

If he does, I was told tonight to not be shocked if our pick at 27 is Tevin Coleman of Indiana. So for those of you rooting for him over Peterson, do your voodoo. Why him? The brass believe Gurley and Gordon are gone before we pick and this is the guy they will take after his 4.35 time at his pro day. He reminds me of Murray. It makes some sense.

Now, what does this mean for the news I have shared with you about Marinelli's passion for O-diggy? I suspect it means if we truly want him we will have to replicate the DeMarcus Lawrence deal of last year and package the picks we intended to use on Peterson to get him. Not saying that happens. Just that it isn't beyond the realm.

I can't believe that even Jerry Jones would be so stupid to make a deal like that. Its actually more than the purported offer to Murray. In addition it flies in the face of the very reason they didn't close on Murray. Namely going long term on a high mileage player. Slice and dice it all you want, it is still a contridiction to the reasoning behind Murray's non retention.

They've made it a point to not discuss it with anyone.......but someone of importance within the organization felt compelled to take that risk in order to share it with a maintenance man in buttfuck Arizona?

I think Peterson, for cheaper than Murray is a coup, even if it costs a pick to acquire him. Murray was better last year. That is the only time in his career that he ever will be, and had Peterson not been suspended who is to say it wouldn't have been a really tight race? I can't. Peterson is a rare talent that I can't ignore.

I now know why Hos had the outlandish prediction Coleman at 27 for us. Eatman released a mock yesterday with us taking Coleman in the first. First mock I have seen with him going in the first. Maybe Eatman is Hos' source?
