Thank you. It is good to know that thread is being appreciated. One of my most fun research projects to be truthful.
I logged off that site after what they did to my Adrian Peterson Op Ed article. Cowboys news in the NFL Zone was a moronic idea. Adrian Peterson news only allowed in one mega thread. Horrible idea.
I asked very nicely two different Mods to go ahead and just delete it since they didn't deem Cowboys related news to be worthy of being in a Cowboys themed forum. After a staff discussion about it I was told the article would remain on the site, in the NFL Zone. I cannot stress this enough, that site is supposed to be about the Dallas Cowboys. News, opinions, and discussion about the Dallas Cowboys, is supposed to be good. They had no less than three threads that had stayed in the Fan Zone and had nothing to do with the Dallas Cowboys, and even more hypocritical, the site owner posted a thread about Peterson, after the edict sticky thread, and it stayed. One of the threads allowed to stay in the Fan Zone was posted by another staff member, about the first female NFL referee. That is Cowboys news, but an Op ED piece about why the Cowboys should go after Peterson isn't?
That is just flat out idiotic.
I did something stupid after that. I insulted the staff with a note in my sig line. Got suspended. I forget for how long, I think a day. I deserved the suspension and don't mind that. It didn't matter. I was pretty much done with that site when they wouldn't do a simple request and remove the thread completely. I object to the way they treat people. If any of you were to have second thoughts about something you posted, we will remove it if you request it. Why? Simple, we want you to trust us to treat you fairly. If you can't, you won't stick around and enjoy the site. How hard is that to grasp?
That site is no longer bookmarked on any of the computers I use. I took a day to say goodbye to the staff that I respect and a couple of posters, and I logged out. As of right now, I have no intentions of ever logging back on there. The only thing they seem to care about is traffic clicks for revenue, so they won't get my traffic. Which by the way shows how stupid their edict was. A Peterson Op Ed piece in the Fan Zone would have got traffic and clicks. There is a reason why the word dummy begins with the sound Duh. That was a duh moment on their part.
I want to make this very clear, I have nothing against that site, or the staff. Many of them I consider friends. Some of them post here. I angrily unfriended all of them on Facebook, even one guy who I didn't realize was no longer on the staff. I have sent friend requests to each of them since as I cooled down. One remains unaccepted as of right now. I will respect that choice, and if after a couple of more days it isn't accepted I will remove the request and the ball will be in their court if they want the friendship.
You don't treat friends like they treat me. Do you know how many times I have been assured that Irving Cowboy will be banned the very next time he goes after me over there? That the next time will be his last time? 13 times I have been promised he is on his last chance. He is still posting there as far as I know. His entire purpose is about trying to make me miserable. Hardly even discusses the Cowboys. But his comments draw the other DCU guys to read his attacks, like them, and thus traffic clicks. So he stays and he continues to insult me at just about every turn.
The last time I mixed it up with him and we both got warned two different members of that staff assured me the next time was the last time for both of us. Me too. I pointed out that I was breaking no rules. They agreed. But my next time would be my last. It wasn't for him, but I will bet you anything if I go after him again it would be for me. I would be banned for defending myself, but he hasn't been banned for continually making me defend myself. Does that make any sense to you? It doesn't to me. I asked to be pointed to which rules I break, and I pointed out 3 that he continually does. Care to guess what the response to that was?
The next time I questioned the staff, even in PMs (which is not against the rules) one of the Mods promised me he would take "great pleasure" in banning me. They are the ones that told me to report when the DCU guys came after me. I did, and it increased their work load and put stress on them. In my opinion they should have got rid of the troublemakers. Instead they have chosen to get rid of me. Not acknowledging a simple request was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Only three things would get me to log on there ever again. I doubt any of the three will happen. I gave that forum more than anyone else for 10 years. Their thanks is underwhelming.
Sorry for the rant. Had to get that off my chest.
