Regarding the news on DCU that Randy Gregory failed another drug test.

I haven't heard a thing about it, but I asked someone we can all trust.

I will say that I am skeptical of the person who broke this news originally, and I do not mean the CZ thread by @yimyammer.

One guy at CZ who ratified this, bkeavs, I am also skeptical of. The origin of this is Rynie at DCU.

Now, he could be right, but until someone I trust says it is true, I wouldn't be too quick to spread the rumor. Those 2 guys are among the only 5 people banned here. I don't trust them as far as I can kick pianos. Once I hear anything I will let you know.

After a couple hours and multiple pleas from the peanut gallery for Hostile to gather some information they could rely on...

Okay, you guys. My guy says nothing is coming with Gregory at all. He says there is something coming though. I repeat, it is NOT Randy Gregory. So park the righteous indignation.......................for now. Okay, don't park it, but at least let it stay in neutral over what we already knew was up, which is 4 games.

Is that something another player getting suspended or Lawrence getting his lifted?

He didn't clarify that and I didn't push it. I just want to deny the Gregory rumors completely at this time.

I know it would hurt the team, but now I hope it comes out that Gregory was caught snorting coke off of Jerry's nut sack just to see hostile's spin job.

I used to smoke pot in my younger years in college. It started off recreationally, but I also had a problem with anxiety and depression. Smoking pot helped me with that and it unfortunately turned into an addiction.

My parents never took me for an evaluation as a child - because coming from a Greek ethnic background, we ignore that stuff, turn a blind eye and sweep it under the rug. As an adult now I'm diagnosed and the meds I'm on help a great deal and I have no debilitating issues any more with anxiety and depression. Thank God! But in college, I was not under the care of a doctor, and I didn't know I needed to be.

What I did know is that smoking pot made the anxiety and depression go away (and strangely, improved my ability to focus and study, and helped me graduate with honors). But before I knew it, I became an addict, even after college.

They say pot is not addictive. Medically/physically it's not, but psychologically it is, especially when you only truly feel happy, relaxed and normal deep down when you're on it, and out of sorts when not on it. It's that psychological addiction that is hard to kick, even if you want to and are trying to do so.

I did eventually kick that addiction, but it was hard and took me about 2 years before being able to go cold turkey. So I feel for Gregory as an addict, and I understand what he's going through and how hard it is for him, no matter how much he wants to stop. I'm also proud of the Cowboys for sticking by him and helping him through this journey.

I won't be disappointed if he tests positive again. In fact, I expect he likely will. That's not an indication that he'll always have this problem, but more of an indication that his journey to sobriety does not happen overnight. I sure hope the Cowboys - and the league - stick by him to help him through that journey.

From a fan's POV, I understand the frustration if his suspension extends to 10 games or one year. But as a person who understands this problem, I care less about the missed time and more so that he makes it through this journey. He says he wants to and that he is trying. And the Cowboys should stick by him for as long as they believe him to be true about that. That's because if he is true about that then he will make it through this journey, and the Cowboys will have one hell of a reliable and fantastic DE in their defensive lineup.

Seems like being addicted to some that makes your anxiety and depression go away is not an addiction but a cure. :)

You would think so, but a whole host of other problems emerge when on it. And when I finally get off of it, and to this day, I can't remember most of my 3 years or so while I was on it. I know because when I'm with friends who ask "remember that time in college when...." the answer is generally"no". I'll somewhat remember it happening, and maybe 20% of what went down, but many of intricate details are just not there in my memory. It's kind of scary actually.

Most people don't remember much from college.

I remember everything. Not just from college. My memory is nearly photographic. Every now and then people ask me what it is like to have such a clear memory. I have no idea how to answer that since I have always had it. It isn't like I hit my head and started recalling stuff.

If you ever want to see an amazing memory though, check out actress Marilu Henner. She was Elaine on the TV show Taxi. That woman can remember minute details of individual days going back decades.

His real life experiences, he probably remembers like they happened yesterday.

In a thread where Hostile says he thinks we should hang on to R. McClain for the stretch run of the season and the playoffs. Hayseed is arguing he should be cut, just like Hardy.

What I meant by the Hardy Graphic was this.......


1..... Hardy IMO is a much better football player than McClain, has proven more on the field, and yet we still decided to part ways with him for the good of the team.


2..... We are in a much better position depth wise at linebacker than we were at defensive end and yet we STILL decided to move on from Hardy.


3.... We have a proven quality player ready willing and able to step in for McClain at middle linebacker in Anthony Hitchens, no such defensive end exists at this time to start the season and yet we STILL decided to part ways with Hardy.


What does this mean? That things dont look very good for Rolando IMO......

You have it all backwards here.

Both were UFAs after last year. One we brought back because....wait for it...solid leader in the locker room and huddle. The other was not brought back because...wait for it...distraction who led players astray.

One is back on a team friendly deal. One wanted a king's ransom.

One reveres Jason Garrett. He has openly told reporters he goes to his Coach for life advice. The other apparently openly dissed him, and now regrets it in the worst way because no one wants him.

It is a huge reach that does not work at all.

Also, the video I posted was in response to the comment that he hasn't done anything impressive while here. I didn't claim Hardy didn't do anything impressive while here.

Fact is,....the man has been suspended for FOURTEEN GAMES in less than 2 years. Thats almost a full regular season of games missed. Truthfully,..... this whole thing with the McClain situation is honestly starting to become pretty absurd. Cant believe Im reading half of this stuff. No sense me debating the issue any longer. We will simply agree to disagree.

I am going to be really offensive to some people for a minute. My apologies. I do not use weed. I have never even tried. (To anyone about to suggest that I should at least try it; not only no, hell no.) My Dad and uncle were rather infamous smugglers. I could share a lot more there, but I won't. I have almost no respect for people who use pot illegally. I have very little for those who use it legally. Please understand something when I say that. I do not think it is horribly harmful. I simply do not believe in self medicating. For this reason I don't drink either, and never have. I am against anything controlling my mind or body. I won't even allow someone to hypnotize me.

I am not so naive that I think only 3 guys on the Dallas Cowboys are using it. Are you that naive?

Do you think Mark Stepnoski is the only guy who was using here and never got caught? Did you know Kevin Gogan admits he used to get high with him? Did you think Nate only tried to sell the stuff? You think Tuinei was not using and went straight to the hard stuff that killed him? That Nicky Sualua hadn't used other stuff and he just got luckier than Tui? Did you know Don Meredith and Pete Gent regularly got toasted? Do you think people on the team weren't buying from Sam Hurd? You think Irvin went straight to cocaine and hookers?

I know of a player who was a 4 time All Pro as a Dallas Cowboy who got high with someone I know. That guy I know is a Cowboys fan by the way. He knows what happens if that guy drops dirty, and he still did weed with him.

You see, while I don't do it, and some people want to think I only look at the sunny side of this team and life, they are wrong. I am perfectly aware that we have players other than McClain doing this, and we have as far back as the 1960's.

I ask you, in all honesty, do you think other Dallas Cowboys are affected that he got caught? You're kidding yourself AH, but you can't kid me. You think someone using pot can't still revere his Head Coach? That upsets you? Seriously? Wouldn't it be wiser to simply understand that the only similarity between Greg Hardy and Rolando McClain is that they played together in 2015? You used a really horrible example because you are now emotionally invested in your disapproval of a player.

Why don't you disapprove of all of them who are using and not getting caught?

It just didn't work as an example. Not with me anyway. If it resonates with others, so be it.

This guy takes any and every opportunity to inject himself and his high morals into any situation.

When I saw the news this morning I panicked a little. I have a cousin I thought was Dallas PD. I called his Mom and she told me he left a couple of months ago to be a K9 Officer in San Angelo, TX. I was more than a little relieved. I have 5 cousins in law enforcement in Texas. So this certainly hits very close to home for me.

No matter what the story is about, he always finds away to shoehorn himself into it. Big Ben... Parliament.
