What is private HOA property? HOA property is private property for the residents of the HOA. I'm in an HOA and frankly always been in an HOA since I became a home owner. I don't love dealing with the BS that comes along with it but generally speaking it's nice to have a community pool (I have zero desire to care for a pool like another child) and community amenities. But having some minimum wage "security" guard would piss me off. Like that HOA fees I pay should be going to things that make the place better. Not make it miserable.
