(512) IPA has been my go to local IPA on tap since they started brewing in 2008 or so. (512) Pecan Porter is really good and one of the more heralded beers coming out of Austin. Give that one a shot next time.

they need to start selling that in bottles. it could challenge Ranger Creek's OPA as my favorite beer.

Yeah, their beer is pretty much exclusively on draft. They have bottled some special batch stuff at times in the past but rarely. There are places here that sell growlers of it though so keep that in mind the next time you're in town. Especially if the Double Pecan Porter is available at the time.
 
Drinking a local brew called a Bell Ringer from a brewery in Spartanburg. Pretty tasty.
 
I thought about this yesterday, tell me if I'm way off base here.

Do you or anyone you know regularly drink Coors beer?

Coors spends a ton of money on advertising, particularly during football season, yet when I'm out with friends or at the liquor store, I never see anyone order a Coors or walking through the store with Coors.

To my naked eyes it seems that Coors is not getting the bang for their buck.

I really don't know anyone who drinks it either. Usually see people carrying around Bud, Bud Light or Miller Lite. Never Coors.

And yeah, it is an inferior product to the three other goat piss...err, I mean beers.

I believe there were three Bandit movies and the last one didn't even have the Bandit in it. I think the photo may be from the third movie. The cargo for that movie was Coors beer.

I think you mean the first movie? The transporting of Coors at that time was against the bootlegging laws if I remember correctly.

Yeah, they weren't allowed to distribute east of the Mississippi I believe. That was the whole reason the Bandit and the Snowman were hired to run it in the movie, because they were driving it to somewhere in Georgia.

I remember taking a family road trip to Colorado as a kid in probably about 1982 and we had to bring a few cases of Coors back to my aunt in Illinois. Since it wasn't available there yet it was a real novelty, largely driven by the Smokey and the Bandit movies, I'm sure.

And for the record, I assumed that most people would be aware of Smokey and the Bandit, I just wasn't sure how many of the under 40 crowd would be familiar enough with it to recognize it strictly from that picture of Big Enos and Little Enos with nothing else to tip them off (i.e., Burt Reynolds/his Trans Am), if they would know the storyline well enough to realize it was Coors being bootlegged, etc.

I thought it was about a big party that was going on and they needed to get the beer to it. That one had Jerry Reid in it. As I recall the first one was transporting an elephant. I could be mistaken it has been a long time.
 
I looked it up. I am wrong. The beer transport was the first movie and the elephant transport was the second one.
 
Sam Adams best beer is the Summer Ale.
