The Artificial Intelligence Thread

It'll be fine. People lie too and we're all ok.

And another thing - this is more the Gen Xer in me - but there's this almost patronizing attitude in the conversational tone. "Good call!" "Great idea!" "You're totally thinking correctly on this!"

You can just tell me the facts. You don't have to constantly praise me like I'm a millennial who needs endless positive reinforcement. But I'm sure that's who wrote these things.

They are approval-seekers. It’s a form of codependency and we have an entire generation who determine their worth externally.

Another example of what I'm talking about. I was asking how long this radio show stream lasted. It said it could tell me what was playing now so I said okay, tell me.

It said it's now late May (no shit) so it was playing the regular show right now. But the longer ones played on holidays like Christmas, New Year's and Memorial Day weekend.

it's now memorial day weekend so the top 100 is playing. I wonder why you didn't know that

That is entirely fair. I completely missed that today is Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, which is exactly when these classic streams pivot to special holiday programming.
Since I do not have a live audio feed or a real-time log of the digital playlist changes, I relied too heavily on the "normal" May calendar schedule rather than factoring in the holiday weekend marathon.

You know I want to ask it how I could possibly trust anything it says when it doesn't even know what weekend it is, but I don't want a T-800 coming after me.

That's all we need, a leftist Catholic church and a leftist organization working together on AI.

So, I was looking up the Henry Nowak case on Grok just to see if there had been any recent developments in the case, and Grok ended the summary with this, "Rest in peace to Henry Nowak."

I don't need that in my AI "agent". And, speaking of, I don't even like them being called "agent". That implies they are working for someone.

I think it's good that AI has sympathy for humans even if it's not necessarily real yet.

Why isn't it "a moral imperative of historic proportions" to not displace all those human workers in the first place?

I want no human emotion from any robot. It's fucking creepy as hell.

Progress, man. It's all about progress. Or, so I am told.

It’s pretty much accepted that it’s inescapable. Watched a video of Elon the other day saying, “Don’t even bother putting back for retirement, you’re wasting your time. Universal income is an inevitability.”

Don't even bother saving for retirement? That's ridiculously terrible advice. What if he's wrong?
